Huge eye opener and motivation for me this week. What was yours?

Mine was my zumba class. Normally held in a lovely room with a stage. This week, moved to a different room.

With a
Full
Length
Wall
Mirror.

I look fine (but only fine) standing straight wearing my work dresses etc. Bigger than I like, but I know I've put on weight since being poorly last year.

But watching myself doing the zumba class in the mirror from all sorts of flattering angles was not a joy.

But it has proved motivating.

I tried on my old suit trousers that I haven't worn for 4 years. Couldn't do one pair up and others were too snug once done up to be comfy.
Furious with dh who keeps saying I'm not at all fat when clearly I am. More determined than ever (and a little bit sad about the whole thing).
I lost pg weight so this has gone on since with too much cake :(

Mine was different. I decided that I was fed up of looking fat and crap, so I got my colours done. Then I bought some new clothes. Felt better about myself, so ate better and started running again. Three months on, I've lost almost 1.5 stone.

I was in the car with my friend the other day in the passenger seat. Spotted my arm and elbow in the wing mirror.....OMG!!!!!

I have a huge effing dimple in my fat arm just above the elbow. I know I've got really fat, but seeing that dimple just above my elbow was a life-altering revelation for me.

I've stayed on track since!

Yup, a full length mirror will do it. Sigh! Seeing every lump and bump motivated me.

Photos are always a shock too... It just creeps on without me noticing, before I know it I have ten pounds to lose!

I also have a Dh who says I look fine' and don't need to diet. Sigh. He's always said that, whatever weight I've been though.

2lb down since mirror-gate.

A I've done this before and got down to goal, so I know what works for me.

It's just a matter of sticking with it.

The thread that said at 5'3" size 12 was fat- I'm shorter and larger ....that and my mum now having dropped a trouser size to less than me! I pretend it's having a 6 month old but I wasn't much smaller before!

I'm size 12 and 5foot 4 - but most of my clothes are dresses so go over hips. Size 12 trousers don't seem to fit (see above) but 14 is too big. I either need to eat more or less to fit clothes. I'm going to go with less and see how I get on. Only lost 1 lb this week but hope a 3rd week will see better results!

At the beginning of January a pair of trousers that used to be comfortable burst open from the crotch to the knee when I knelt down to pick up DD. That was humiliating.

Other "lightbulb moments" in the past few years have included realising that if our house was on fire, a fireman would find it very difficult to lift me.

Seeing not 2 but 3 chins in the mirror, weighing myself and realising I've piled on nearly 2 stones in 2 yearsSad
No motivation for weeks, starting back on track today. So depressing, this is usually when I'd break open the wine - well that's the first thing to go! No vino for at least 4 days.
