Any yoghurt experts about and granola?

I really struggle with breakfast but have managed beans on toast for the last couple of weeks but getting a bit bored. Never used to eat it before.

To change things about and particularly because I am not keen on any dairy, I bought some Greek yoghurt with honey in it. Really quite delicious and 150 cals BUT the sugar content is massive.

I have mixed it in with some Special K granola which again is better than my previous diet but still high in sugar. Also I defrost some berries and add those.

So my question is, to have a similar breakfast how would you make it, ie what yoghurt and what granola? I have honey at home so can add that for sweetness

I don't eat breakfast, it makes me hungry and I end up eating more than if I just fast till lunch....why aren't you keen on breakfast?

I just can't face eating it so usually don't but then need to eat at work which is a front facing customer service role so usually it would be a cereal bar which I don't think is great either.

I should say I am hungry by about 10.30/11 am.

There's a good recipe on the change 4 life website which is porridge done in apple juice with dried fruit, frozen berries and natural yoghurt. Delish!

Plain Greek yoghurt with seeds and either frozen or fresh berries will be low in sugar.

I normally get a big pot of plain greek yoghurt, add a banana and some granola on top (I use Lizi's) and I don't need any sweetening as banana is sweet enough. If you want less calories, add only half a banana and skip the granola and add nuts and seeds instead.

In the evening I soak some oats & a few sultanas in apple juice, and keep it in the fridge overnight. In the morning I stir in about 3 tablespoons of plain Greek yoghurt & half a banana. It's really lovely & keeps me full for ages. You can reduce sugar content by using a mixture of juice & water to soak the oats, but it's a bit bland if you just use water.

I use plain yoghurt, and add oats that have been toasted in cinnamon and a tiny bit of honey. It takes a few minutes to do in a pan, and is lovely. You can also add chopped nuts and a few berries. I think this is pretty sugar-light.

Plain greek yoghurt - try Fage - high in protein and low sugar. Get the full fat version, it keeps you fuller for longer and better for stable blood sugar. High protein, unsweetened granola from health food shop. Or make your own, with nice things like toasted coconut in it.

It's really delicious, I promise!

I'm doing Slimming World so yesterday I bought myself a small kilner jar and layered frozen rapsberries, blueberries , low fat natural yogurt and 35g of porridge oats in it. Left in the fridge overnight and have just eaten it. Was delicious and I am very full now, so hopefully see me through until lunch.

Thanks everyone.

Although high in sugar my combo which I had this morning has certainly filled me up. I ate as much as I could at 8 am (left some) and I am not even considering anything else to eat at 12.15.
