Anyone aiming for 10stone?

HeyBungalowBill · 12/05/2014 22:57

Hello!
I'm looking for someone to kind of compete (in a friendly way) to get to 10 stone.
Me and a friend once decided that neither of us would eat any chocolate, biscuits, cake etc and kind of competed and I did well at it but he crumbled!

Anyway about me:
I'm 5 foot 4
11st 6
Size 10-12 on top
12-14 on bottom

Planning on running and a bit of strength training for my exercise, I think diet will be the hard part.

If you think you'd like to pair up or form a group to lose weight together that'd be great Smile

Yes, that's my goal too. I've been trying to go it alone but going up, not down!

Yes, me - exactly the same stats!

Yes please! My stats are 5'7, 11 stone (10,12 sometimes!). I have been losing weight since dc2 was born (7 months) and I'm finally feeling quite good (having even overweight all the time between dc1 and dc2) BUT I have now been stuck at 11 stone for 6 weeks and would really like to lose the last stone. (I don't think I've weighed 10 stone since I was 20).
I really want to do it by the start of august. I would love some motivation!!
What is everyone's plan?

Brilliant some similar weights and heights is brill Smile

My DS is 8 months so we are similar in that too last poster! (Can't look on my phone without deleting my message so far haha!)

I'm planning 3 runs a week and some weights once a week, I'm also training for the great north run! Confused
I'm nervous as I don't think I'll be ready but I know someone a lot older and unfit who finished it haha.

Any simple ideas for dieting?
And what are your ideas for your exercise? Smile

Hi bungalow. I'm very impressed with your exercise plans. I have mostly been dieting - doing 5:2 but have not really been sticking to it in the last few weeks. On the one hand I've been pleased I haven't gained again but still want to see the scales go down.
So I'm having a strict week, protein fruit and veg, water and coffee only. Just till Saturday when I'm going to a fantastic restaurant for a family event so I'm hoping that to look forward to will see me through.
Really need to do more exercise though. I have even doing a bit of the shred. Managed it yesterday but not so far today. Ds is sleeping terribly so I'm shattered !
Anyone any bright ideas to get things moving again?

Ooooh can I join too please?

I'm 5'3" and currently 11st 4. Size 14-16 (don't know about top/bottom as I live in dresses).

My plan so far is walk more, c25k, drink more and keep track of what I'm eating. I'm also planning on drinking more water and cutting out as much sugar as I can (says the woman who's eaten 2 pieces of cake today Smile)

Will be nice to have some friendly competition!

crazyoldfish · 15/05/2014 10:55

hi Ann!
cake is good though - my plan for a healthy week went awry yesterday with a big piece of chocolate cake. rats.
but I have been managing to do the shred every day so far so I'm pleased about that. weight wise - I think I am down to about 10 st 11 but my scales are rubbish so I can't see brilliantly. it is below 11 though so I'm pleased about that. ds also sleeping a bit better so I'm feeling better in general.
how do you find c25K?
right I'm supposed to be spending today stripping wallpaper and haven't started yet. must stop procrastinating.

Hiya ann Smile course you can join, the more the merrier!
We all seen to be similar heights and weights so that's good!

Do you think weighing once a week is good? Or every 2? Smile

I'm definitely going to struggle with dieting more than exercising, I'm usually the other way round!

I've started eating more fruit, but still plenty of rubbish on top Grin
My meals are good it's just I snack a lot.

Hi crazy - I think you're brave doing the shred. I bought it and got less than 5mins into it before wanting to die!!! C25k is brilliant - I'm only up to week 3 at the moment but I did it a few years back and managed to build up to 5k with relative ease.

Hey bungalow, I think once a week. I got myself a Fitbit a few weeks ago and I've been weighing and logging each Wednesday so I'll probably just update the thread at the same time.

Hello all, I'm 5'6 and about 15 stone :( I've lost 4 stone before and kept it off for 4 years then I had DD 9 months ago. Kept fit during pregnancy, ate well and only put on 1st 3lb (DD was 9lb!) anyway I ended up with mild PND and piled the weight on.

Didn't have the energy or the confidence to exercise and as for healthy eating I just thought 'what's the point?' But I'm in the right frame of mind now and I don't want to give up the good work.

My mum is on holiday and is coming back in 6 weeks, she has ALWAYS nagged me about my weight do I'm wanting to lose at least a st

My mum is on holiday and is coming back in 6 weeks, she has ALWAYS nagged me about my weight do I'm wanting to lose at least a stone before she gets back. I know it's very doable, especially at my weight.

I would love to be down to 9/10 stones and a size 10-12 again. I know I can do it and everyone on this thread can too :)

We can definitely do it, welcome to the thread! Smile

I can definitely recommend the couch to 5k programme when it comes to exercise. It's very gentle and builds you up at your own pace, it gave me more and more confidence every time I finished a run Smile

Hi brokenhearted & prawny.

How's everyone getting on so far? I went out last night and went way over my calories for the day. But I had fun so I don't care!

I have different stats and targets but can I join too for the moral support please? I'm 5'4, 9st 6lb and got a stone of pregnancy weight to lose.

Hi Tea, of course you can!

I've been the gym today, run 2 in week 3 of couch to 5k. Need to go shopping and then I'll be dragging the dog out for a nice long walk. I find it so much easier to be active when the weather is good!

Ooh, can I join? Ive been being good for about 3 weeks but the weekends are filled with weddings etc so that slows progress a bit. Stats are
5'6"
10 st 12 (down from 11 st 5 so far)
Size 12

I managed to get down to 10s 5 last year but got a car and stopped walking to work. Now started the c25k about 2 months ago which is good. Between that and the dieting it's going well. Diet is just no naughty stuff in the week and a little at the weekends, but not a binge.

Size 14
Leaving my present job after 20 years in July. Would love to start new job slimmer... a size 10/12. A nice excuse for a new work wardrobe.

Hi, Can I join too? I really need a boost and maybe joining this thread will spur me on. I lost 2 stone a couple of years ago (with WW) and felt great, but 20lb has crept back on!!!
I am 5'7" and currently 11st 13lb. Ideally, I would like to get to my previous goal of 10st 10lb.
Summer hols and a couple of events are only 5-7 weeks away and it would be great to shift at least 7lbs before then.
I am going to try a WW/calorie-counting/low-carb combo, I think.

Anyone got any tips for what works for them and how to stop feeling hungry for the first few days??

Thanks Smile

I'm tempted to just force myself to cut out all snacks, I find it easy to manage my meals and make them healthy and decent portions.
I just find I'm snacking more and more out of boredom lately! Confused

The other night I had 3 apples, 2 yoghurts and 2 packets of crisps in an hour Shock it's ridiculous!!
