Any tips to stop myself munching in the evening?

I am quite good in the day with sticking to my plan but in the evening I just want to eat and eat and eat especially when DC have gone to bed. I have been getting through a big pack of mini eggs each night Sad

I managed to stop myself buying a pack for today but wondering how can I distract myself from unnecessary eating?

I have the same problem! Aside from trying not to have things in the house (especially mini eggs!) I sometimes floss and brush my teeth before I sit down for the evening. I tend not to want to ruin that nice clean feeling with junk food.

Try not to sit down - or don't sit down anywhere near the kitchen. Eg stand up ironing whilst watching tv instead of just watching with a bag of mini eggs; lounge around in your bedroom so the kitchen is too far away for you to be arsed to go to fetch anything to eat.

Have a big drink (herbal tea, diet hot chocolate, fizzy water, diet tonic, whatever) when you feel hungry. If after half an hour you're still hungry, have another drink.

And yy to brushing your teeth.

Either just willpower or low carb. I found that cutting out sugar and carbs and eating more protein and good fats kept me full for much longer and almost totally got rid of the desire to snack. Carbs just make you crave more carbs.

Thanks for the tips. I have no mini eggs in the house today thank goodness, no crisps or biscuits. I did go to the supermarket and only bought veg so keeping the tempting stuff out of the house is the first most important thing I guess.

I like the cleaning teeth idea. If I do all my flossing and cleaning then it will spoil it if I end up eating something

I like the drinking idea too. I don't drink enough water in the day so this will be a great way to get my fluid up and also act as a distraction.

Thank you very much Emma and RuthlessBaggage Thanks

I am low carbing and it does work really well. It is the time of the year and I have a real weakness for mini eggs! Sugar is addictive, I bought one pack and soon it became every night. But I am determined to break the routine and I am not having any tonight or any other night

Paint your nails or I sit and knit. I've only just learnt and sit knitting wee squares to make a crappy looking blanket.

Love the blanket idea Grin
