52 weeks to lose 52 pound. Anyone in?

I am 4 stone over weight and it's making me very unhappy. I've been saying I'll lose weight for the last two years! Instead I've just gotten fatter.

I know most people don't keep up their new years resolutions but I am hoping having a thread on here will help.

If anyone is interested please feel free to join me. I will be using weight watchers but I would love anyone to join.

I intend to start on Jan 1st. I've bought
a nice diary to write my food in.

I'd love it if people could share meal plans and recipie ideas.

Great idea! I'm in. I have more than that to lose (62lbs) but would be a great start! I'm a terrible yoyo dieter but now am breastfeeding I need to do something less extreme.

I am planning to do Slimming World as a trial to see if I can lose on it. If after a month I haven't I will focus on giving up sugars.

I'm in. I'm 27 as of a week ago and have decided that this year I need to lose 27lbs (twice) randomly that is nicely 54lbs so fits in well with this.

I'm starting 2nd Jan grin

I was doing Zumba once a week in the run up to Christmas but ni change in my eating so im upping it to two classes a week starting Jan and changin eating plans.

Ooh if I am successful, it will bring my BMI down to middle of healthy weight.

Do you think we should do Stats and agree a "weigh in day"?

So, confession time. I currently weigh 14st2. Losing 52lbs would put me at 10st6. I am 5'8" tall, so that would take me from a BMI of 30.2 to 22.2

Not very nice seeing it all written down like that. I'm going to weigh myself before breakfast on Monday mornings, and try not to step on the scales in between times.

Think I'm going to try the 5:2 diet and start running again, there is a local 5k in March that I want to do.

Gulp. And I made a bet with my husband - first to 52lbs weight loss gets £52 from the loser! He DOES NOT like to lose, so we'll see how that goes...

I'm in please. Thank God- I was hoping for a thread like this.

I need to lose about 30lbs but 40lbs would bring me to the middle of my healthy BMI. I'd previous lost 4 stone and have now put two of those back on again. I've been eating like a pig.

I'll be starting on Monday 40th January because I like to weigh in Monday mornings. I'm going to start off with Bob Harper's Jumpstart to Skinny plan for the first three weeks which promises 10lbs loss in 3 weeks. I've used it before and was surprised at how well it worked. I'll team that with a daily run and 30DS. I'll decide what happens next after the three weeks are over.

How are we going to do this? Post daily updates? Link up on MFP?

Just installin MFP now.

Wonder how much I can loose just by drinking only water and tea instead of a glass.of wine / beer each evening and a can of coke every day?

I'm in. I'm sick of everything wobbling. Starting 6th January due to a late Christmas with parents.

Well, coke and a large wine is 410c. You need to create a deficit of around 3500c to lose 1lb (it's roughly that, depends on your metabolism a lot), so if you cut it out, you'd lose 1lb every 9 days. Ish.

I'm in. Will do it with slimming world albeit without going to class.

I lost a stone in 6 weeks when I joined in Aug this year. Unfortunately PND took over and it all went tits up around Nov sad

I felt great when I was in the healthy eating/exercise zone. I want to feel that way again.

Ooh thats good wood in addition to other healthy eating. Im a total class avoider so cant picture myself attending a group, amd with my shiftwork I never get the same.night off each week.

I did try a couple.of Asdas pre prepared light meals (in a sort of steamer bag) which were really tasty amd filling so may stock.up.on them for my work.meals

I used to run (sob), now I am the fattest and most unhealthy I have ever been. I have a beautiful 13 week old baby boy to show for it but I am still wearing maternity clothes blush

Count me in please. I'm already signed up to Slimming World online and have lost 20lbs to get back down to 14st 3lbs, would love to get back down to around 10 1/2 stones. I can't make it to a weekly group so online is working, but having a weekly weigh-in here would be extra motivation to keep on the straight and narrow.

I'm in , not sure how much I need to lose as I don't weigh myself but I'm restarting the 5:2 in jan having let it lapse the last few months . Joining the rest of you will keep me motivated I'm sure .I don't drink alcohol and found that last time just cutting out fizz and drinking weak squash made quite a difference , I'm also still trying to sort out my thyroxine dose so that will help as well .

I'm only 5ft2 and when I weighed myself yesterday I cried. I've crept up to 15stone and as well as looking like crap it's seriously affecting my health. I ache all over, get out of breath walking up stairs, struggle to paint my toenails and I've started getting heartburn at night. I'm so ashamed that I've let myself get into this state.
I love food and hate exercise so this isn't going to be fun but I've got to do it or else I dread to think how big I'll be by next Christmas.
I think I need to change my username, Chubby really doesn't cover it!
