And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

Come on you lot! I can't be the only one left!

For the interest of anyone reading. This was started almost 2 years ago by a poster who said she'd try anything to get to her target weight and it went on from there.

I'll join you! Wasn't on the original thread, but would love to weigh-in here to help keep me motivated. I lost some weight in Oct/Nov but then put a bit on in the run up to Christmas. Think I've got about 3 stone to lose, but will weigh, calculate and report back later.

Hi crumpet. I'm glad to have some company. I have no plan or method at the moment, just to consume less than I use calories wise.

Do you follow any kind of diet?

Haveacrumpet · 27/12/2013 11:59

Hi TheOne. No, I don't follow anything in particular. I find counting calories works fine for me. I try not to go beyond 1200 in a day. Will follow this for about 3-4 weeks and then add in more rigorous exercise if nothing much is happening. But usually I can control weight through diet and doing everyday exercise, e.g. Walking

In Oct/Nov when I lost weight, I was making lots of chicken and veg casseroles for dinner, and that really helped me stay on track as they were so filling and warming, but low in calories, so I'm going to get back into the habit of making those again.

Urgh. I'd forgotten about 1200 calories. See, that's why I need support! Grin

I did use My Fitness Pal at the beginning last time to help me keep track. I may have to set that up again.

I'm off to make leftover veg soup now. I love it at this time of year. A real bowl of comfort with low calories.

I don't tend to indulge before Christmas but between Christmas and new year is my one week to indulge. That's why I'm not weighing until 1st.

I want a true reading without demotivating myself.

Right. Given that it's Monday I'm shouting out to you lot again.

I've eaten a lot of chocolate since Christmas and I need your help.

So this is my last shout before I join another thread instead. :(

I've just looked at that spreadsheet from before, it was last updated 9/12/13 so maybe it's still going?

No I started the 1st one then I think it was mainly stealth who did the new ones when they got full up, I'm not sure how long it was going after I disappeared. Lollypopviolet is on there so u def have the right name- just not me!

And to confuse it further I'm just about to name change to something non food related! X

Yay, Kato too! I remember you did really well on the last thread so I'm sure you'll be fine if you get your head in the right place unlike me.

How are you getting on crumpet?

Right I'm in -- this is linked to not spending money on non essentials (wine and choc) and buying no clothes for a whole year thread - one month at a time - be good to get into my smaller sized summer clothes.

We dont have scales Im guessing ive gone back over 15st. I will have to post weight when I get a chance. I have everything I need (all the gear) inc membership to a nice gym, which when i get into it I like it.

My main motivation is health - I have two younf kids I need to keep fit for and I dont want to be 'the fat one' anymore - as in the pics lastnight. Sad

I do not want to return to W/W or 'diet' I want to cut out the crap and get active - I will see what happens.

Grin Inspired by my 4yr old!

Welcome overthinker buying no clothes for a whole year?! But who would buy all the crap left over in the sales that I'm never going to wear and just clog up my wardrobe?!

So dh just forced me to eat a load of nougat. I have warned him that I've resurrected this thread. I think he's looking forward to some more Hairy Dieters meals. We all enjoyed them before.

I can feel my body craving vitamins after the Christmas excess so I've made some veg soup for lunches. It's actually really tasty unlike my last effort.

I'm dreading weighing in the morning but I promise to be honest. If I'm back up to the weight I started the last thread I'm going to cry.

Yeah, I second the request for a veg soup recipe, I got a slow cooker in November but every time I made soup it turned into a baby food veg purée so I'd end up ordering pizza instead!

Report
TheOneWithTheHair · 01/01/2014 20:25

Well I didn't really follow a recipe. I just used what I had in. I made loads and froze it in portions.

I used a bag of chanterelle(?) carrots, the mini ones, some Maris Piper potatoes, sprouts, spinach, parsnips, two heads of broccoli, and 1/2 a cabbage. I put in about 1/2pint of left over gravy and a pint of stock. I let it cook for about 2hrs on really low.

Then I blended it and it did look a bit like baby food so I added more stock and cooked it for another hour.

I know there's quite a lot of bitter veg in there but the carrots and few parsnips really sweetened it up.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

Wow Kato, are you running or gyming or some other kind of torture?
