20lbs lighter by Christmas Day, anyone?

notagiraffe · 21/10/2013 14:18

Hi
Got weighed at weekend in one of those places where you can't shift your toes around on the scale to lose half a stone. Bit of a shock. Does anyone want to join me to be 20lb lighter by Christmas?

That's only 2lb a week. We can do it.

Height: 5'4"
Start weight on 21st October: 159lb
Goal Weight on Christmas Day: 139lb

Food Plan: no sugar or processed foods, lots of water, lots of veg and lean protein. Alcohol free on weekdays

Exercise Plan: Daily Shred plus what I already do (fitness class and walks)

Anyone want to join in and add plans, tips, motivators, anything at all to get us there by Christmas Day?

Signing UP!

I've wobbled, I've plateaued, I need to screw the nut.

Height 5'4"
Start Weight 144lb
Goal Weight Christmas day: 124lbs

Food: NO MORE FRENCH FANCIES! - I tell myself they are only 106 calories then eat 4... I'm also quitting my Pepsi Max addiction.

Excercise: I do currently go to the gym/various classes and strength training but I need to stop eating it all back!

God yes. Great idea, thanks nota. I need to lose the same stone I lost at weight watchers last year!
5'4'', 145 lbs
I am pear shaped and have a really narrow frame so extra weight is v noticeable on me.
Will cut out the chocolate at work (my biggest problem), dig out my jillian Anderson DVDs and try writing down everything I eat
At work now so will be back on later. Good luck all

I'm in. I was going to start such a thread yesterday myself then thought it would be so much better if someone did and I could join in!

I'm 5'1"
Starting weight is 142lbs
Goal by Xmas 125lbs.

That's just under 20lbs but I find the last few pounds very hard to shift. I have previously lost 46lbs but I've put almost half of that back on again and need to reign it in.

I can't do without sugar in my coffee so will allow myself half a teaspoon there, but besides that I'm going to stick to a similar plan as the OP. I don't drink alcohol so will make the weekdays chocolate free instead.

Brilliant - that's five of us already.

mydad good idea. Let's weigh in every Monday.

And let's keep each other going.
Come in every day and keep a note of food, exercise, water intake etc, if that helps.

I'll check in before bedtime and cheer us all on.

Think of those party dresses.

Think of wearing chunky jumpers and jeans on frosty walks without looking like a wrapped up snowman.

I'm in as well. Got to be done- I started today on a low carb diet.
I've got dodgy knees so will have to think of an alternative to Shred. Wondering if I can borrow an excercise machine from someone.

In my experience, weighing on a Friday is good because it keeps you motivated over the weekend? And if we're having tiny weeny treats over the weekend it's better to weigh on friday and get it out the way?

I'm in too.

I've just sat down and my trusty jeans have split all along the inner thigh where I've worn the poor buggers through. It has to stop

Anyway, jeans have split and then I saw this thread. Perfect timing

I'm 5 ft 7 and over 16 stone. Would love for my wellies to fit properly and not crinkle around my ankles. I have a lovely wardrobe, of which I'm wearing about 5% at the moment. 20lb off would be just lovely.

Plan is exercise (aiming for 15000 steps a day, swimming 3 times a week) and cutting out the junk and processed carbs, lots of water and veg and lean protein. Much the same as everyone else.

Shall be following Mydadsdaughter with interest as it looks like we are similar?

I am in!! I weigh almost 17 stone. I am 5 ft 8.

I have really bad knees so really struggle with exercising. Been told to never do the shred.

I walk 4 miles a day doing the school run but that is about all I get. I also eat far too much.

But I need to do this.

Yep I'm in. Will weigh in tomorrow morning. Need to get a grip as most stuff in my wardrobe no longer fits and I'm down to two work skirts and no jeans...I plan to low carb as that's the only thing that ever works for me.

Can I join? Need to make a start on my post-baby stomach and hips, thighs & arms

5ft 3
162lbs
Goal by Christmas is 142lbs

Food plan: STOP munching on biscuits every time I feed the baby. Reduce the amount of carbs and crappy fats.

Exercise plan: Start shredding again. I already walk 6 miles every day doing the school run but I want to go at a faster pace when DS is dropped off.

I'm up for weighing in weekly, don't mind which day.

Hi
I'd like to join in too. I'm fed up of losing weight, then falling off the wagon and putting it back on again :(
I'm 5'6" and just under 14 stone. I'd love to drop a Jean size by Xmas.

Can I join too?
I'm about 200lb and would love to lose a stone (or more by Christmas)
Only barrier is that I have no scales and we are going away for half term to a cottage in Devon.

I'm in! I'm 5'9"" and weigh 175lbs today. (12st 7) Heaviest I've ever been, even at 9 months pregnant.

Had our 5th (and final!) baby 5 months ago and want to get back to something resembling slim. I want to wear size 12 trousers again.

My aim is to get to 150lbs, so 20lbs lighter by Christmas sounds great.

No ideas or anything at the moment, but I will be back next Monday to weigh in.

Hello all, room for another (not so) small one?
Bad habits, to much Wineand meals out have led me to now feeling like I am wearing an inflatable fat suit. If only it was as simple as popping it with a large pin.
Instead it's gotta be low carbs, some meal replacements for me. Never fun Hmm but its got to be done before I end up giving all of my unfitting clothes away to charity shop and buying larger sizes.....once I do that I know I will never have the incentive to lose it.
Vital stats......height 5 '3........weight 11st 8lb......
If I can get to 10.5 st for Xmas that's ok.....nearer 10 would be even better.

If it helps any one, I've lost all the weight so far by following mfp, sticking to 1700 calories each day (I'm allowed 1200 normally plus 500 as bf 4 month old) and being really strict about it. I also walk every day and run3 times a week. II've been off focus last few weeks so really going to pull my socks back up for my last 20lbs!
I eat a lot of veg, some low fat protein and some carbs but my dinner plate is always two thirds veg, fills me up as I have a big appetite and low calorie.
Swapping pasta for cauliflower rice works wonders and experimenting with vegetarian dishes has been great fun. Also swapped old snacks for carrot sticks and red peppers etc. If I'm hungry I eat, just eat right things.
I also found by allowing myself sweet treats my body still craved them, once I went cold turkey it was much easier.
I'm yellowcanary123 on mfp if anyone wants to add me.
I'm also part of another thread, about losing weight, titled guinea pigs, which has been huge support in losing!

I'm in!

14st 9lbs (last time I checked...will need to confirm in the morning) and 5ft 3. Last Christmas I was comfortably in a size 16 at 12 stone... i'm now in a 20 (and only if they're generous Sad)

My intentions: stop hitting the vending machine at work, reduce carbs, do shred, curb my coke zero habit.
