Here we are, thread 4 .
Time for me to have a large kick up the arse and lose weight! (After Easter!)
I want to make the mushroom soup as I have a huge punnet of mushrooms to get through - I over bought on Saturday as I knew I needed a fair amount to make my beef stroganoff - just not that many!
I am so bloody suggestible, after your earlier post I googled mushroom recipes (I love mustard so might find a way to put them on posh bread with parsley) and have spent the afternoon craving mushrooms. Better than craving chocolate obviously.
I wonder if I should try CBT or hypnosis to get me though parties and buffets as that's my one real weakness. Seems a lot of money for something that doesn't happen that often but it niggles me that after 16 months of dieting I haven't got to grips with party bingeing.
Good news. I have just weighed myself and I'm down 1.7lbs in 8 days. I am so surprised. I had 5 very good days last week and 2 bad days so I am particularly pleased. I'm 9st 6 and my target is to be 8st 13 by Easter.
Congrats on the loss Johnny and good luck in getting rid of the mushroom mountain arty.
I'm happy to announce that as of today I'm 13st 2 and therefore officially overweight and no longer obese
Well done to you both, those are great results. Are you going to stop at 8 13 Johnny or still want to lose more
I'm aiming for 8 10 that will be 5 stone lost and I'm short so know around 9 should be ok for me as I used to be 9 a long time ago!
Zalen, you are doing really well and will be in the 12s very very soon.
I started at 13 10 and I'm now overweight and not obese, its a massive achievement.
Well done Zalen, that's such a big achievement. You'll be in the 12s soon, another big step.
Cookie, I don't know my final target, I have never weighed so little so I'm hoping I'll know when I get there. My original target was 10 st 5 but I wasn't happy when I got there so I have set myself 3 subsequent targets.
I have founf that the weightloss doesn't neceSarily correlate with me being thinner so I went down from size 12 to 10 in july AUGUst when I wasn't really losing weight. Maybe it's my skin shrinking or something.
Part of me thinks I should try to go down to 8 st 9 just because it's a round 5 stone too! I am also short so even as a 10 I'm not exactly skinny.
There was an article in the daily mail and I think something like only 7% of women keep at a diet for more than 6 months. So I think we all deserve a non food treat for doing so well.

Hello everyone. I've had an unusually busy week, done lots of socialising and eating. I've tried to make sensible choices (apart from 4 cookies that I realised afterwards were 400 calories, dammit, that's like a whole meal!)
and chips but went a couple of days without logging on mfp so Monday's weigh in will be a complete surprise. I'll be very pleased if I lose or stay the same as I've enjoyed my food and going out. I'm hoping this is how thin people eat.

Good luck for Monday Johnny, I have been down for my weigh in - am a little disappointed as I thought I had been really good all week, yes it is a loss but not a big one. 300g! although it did keep flicking on to the 400g but I decided on the 300g to be recorded.
I wont be having a weigh in for 10 days now - need to get back into the Monday weigh in. humph!
I have typed a message about 3 times and lost it! Was trying to say I know how disappointing it can be to not lose much after you've really tried hard but 300g is still an ok loss, that's more than 1/2lb? Weight fluctuates so much anyway that you might find if you'd been weighed today or Thursday you would have a completely different result. The main thing is you don't give up and I'm sure you'll be pleased in 9 days time.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm being very diet conscious due to my food laden week. Poor dh is eating the same as me so has just had an omelette with lots of veg and no cheese and tonight will be having a very healthy chilli or possibly spag Bol. He wanted to go out to lunch but I wouldn't let him so I think he is bored with healthy food!

Weigh in result. I stayed the same. Very pleased as I had a sneaky weigh in yesterday and had gone up a small amount. It's nice to know I can be restrained on a weekend .
Good Morning all, Coriolanus on Saturday evening was amazing but I had to queue about 5 hours that morning to get my son a standing ticket for the same performance so that we could go together so I now have a stinking cold! But it was worth it to see Tom Hiddleston live.
It's not been a good weekend diet wise, I've only had about one meal a day but they haven't been healthy ones. I weighed Friday night before having a shower and getting on the coach for London. I was 12st 13.6 then, this morning I'm back at 13st 1.6, still a reasonable loss from last week but now quite into the 12s, soon now though.
Hi everyone, weighed Friday and down another pound to 10st 10 so pleased with that, although I was 10st 7 before Christmas so still trying to get back to that first which is slightly annoying!
I am away for a few days this week and then again the next week so its going to be hard to stay under calories as ill be eating put all the time

Cookieowner, well done on a lb and good luck in the next couple of weeks. I would be tempted to give up the diet and enjoy myself for a bit but then that's why I only lose about 2lbs a month!
Arty, I hope you're ok and not too down about Friday. It was still a step in the right direction, I'll be pleased if I get a loss like that next week.
I have just had two days of being ridiculously hungry and just not satisfied. I cooked a lovely, healthy curry for both days but just overloaded it with mango chutney, poppadoms, bread and butter (I hate rice). I only had about 1800 cals which doesn't sound like much, except as I'm 5 ft 4 with a sedentary lifestyle I only need about 1500 cals a day to stay the same. Still I'm sure I used to eat 2 or 3 thousand cals a day so I can't get too upset about it.
I eat at 5 with dds as if I waited for dh to get home I'd end up eating all evening but now I am thinking about his curry which is in the fridge. I must not eat his dinner.... Repeat.... I must not eat his dinner.... It's going to be a long evening.
Thanks Johnny, unfortunately it was only a brief visit to the 12s, I had a work night out last night, the Project Manager came up from London to take the project team out to dinner so I'm back up to 13 3.4 this morning, still it could have been worse and next time I'll get back to the 12s to stay (until I hit the 11s )
Hope you managed to get through the evening without eating your husbands dinner and the hunger pangs subside.
Yes thank you Zalen I had carrots and lots of water and the hunger pangs did go. Then dh came home from work and said he didn't feel like curry for a second day. I nearly threw it at him
Another bad day today. Bought dd2 about 200g of smartie type sweets in pick and mix (I try to avoid actual nestle products) and then ate them all.
Then dd1 announced it's Chinese New Year tomorrow so can we have a takeaway at the weekend? I just know I'm not going to enjoy Monday's weigh in. Did I say I'd reach 8 st 13 by Easter? Think I meant Easter 2015.
Don't be silly, that would be a waste of good curry, I hope you put it in the fridge to give to him tonight
Oh yes I wasn't going to waste it so poor dh had curry two nights out of three. It was very nice but by then I'd eaten the yogurt, poppadoms and mango chutney so not so interesting. I learnt that poppadoms only have 44 cals so I ate about 8! I kept saying 'just another one, it's only 44 calories'
My diet has been terrible for days now. We had a Chinese, lots of bread and cheese, and I made chocolate brownies with dd2 on Friday and ate quite a lot of them too. I have a cold and so have also been consuming lemsip and cough sweets even though I know they don't work and are full of sugar.
Oh well, diet starts tomorrow (again).

Weighed in this morning, 12st 13.2 that's a 2.4 lb loss since last Monday which I'm very pleased with, especially with the works night out on Tuesday where I had both started and dessert, then the pizza yesterday.
Having reached the 12's I've set my self a new goal, the 11s by the end of March, if I'm successful I'll treat myself to a ticket to see The Weir. I saw the trailer for it when I went to see the NT Live broadcast of Coriolanus last week and it sounds good.
I've also decided if I can make it under 10st eventually then I'll treat myself to these by that time my calves should have reduced enough I'll actually be able to get them into knee high boots again
Thanks Johnny I did have a good time, ate too much though as predicted so now I have 4 days of being extra good before I go away again on Friday
After that I really need to buckle down as have 3 weeks before another trip so don't feel I have much chance of decent weight losses until after all these trips are over, which will be 2nd week of March!
Glad you had a good time cookie, sounds like you've got a lot going on at the moment, good luck getting back on track in the short time you've got at home before you're away again.

With all my trips I am struggling to lose much overall really but need to get down past where I am stuck !
Thanks cookie, but it is easier when you still have plenty to lose as I do at the moment. I'm 2 stone down from where I started in mid November which is great but not so good when I remember that I had to do that to reach the point I started at 14 years ago when I had a big push and lost 3 stone in 12 months!
Well done on everyone's losses. I too have lost - surprised --YES! but very relieved - 400g off.
