Can't believe I've done it! Argh BlushBlush

Had dc3 by section 18 weeks ago and had the worst moment ever last night whilst attempting the plank at yoga I saw my totally totally deformed tummy through the neck of my t-shirt iykwim!

Have about 10lbs to goal weight but am so soft and squishy everywhere..

I'm terrified now. I'm not fit, at all. I'm going to die aren't I? Oh Lordy...

It will be fine! Actually as long as you have someone who really knows their stuff with regards to post-pregnancy training you should get far more out of it than just regular training.

Remember even on days when you don't feel like going, remind yourself how good you will feel afterwards.

Well done you!

Thanks Kooza, I'm very nervous but vanity is winning over nerves at the moment Grin

It's just a shame Personal Trainers are so ruddy expensive! I had to stop going to mine as we needed to budget and that was too much of a luxury.

I was gutted but still manage to train on and off. It gets you into a good pattern while you're getting your fitness back which is the really hard part!

Yes it is rather shocking but she will earn every penny with me to work with Smile how soon before I see results do you think?

I love my PT sessions but like you Kooza I wish they weren't so expensive.
You'll be fine and better than you think if you've been doing yoga.
I bet you finish with a smile on your face and feel great for the rest of the day.

Depends on diet really Fish. You may find that the gym sessions make you really hungry so try to watch what you're eating.
Try organising meals so that you have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner so that you're not trying to go for long periods without eating.

I would have thought within a few weeks you should see a difference, you'll certainly feel better! Some of it's mental, once you feel like you've regained control of your body you just automatically feel better about yourself.
Just keep at it! Smile

Don't be nervous - the last thing a personal trainer wants is for you to be scared or unhappy.

The good news is that you're not fit at all, so anything you do will be an improvement Smile

When is your first session?

It was good. She really listened. I have a 40 min cardio routine to practice but the most on any machine at one time is 4 mins.. Also lots of basic core strengthening work which I actually enjoyed Shock

Delighted with myself Smile

I have been going to a trainer on and off for a couple of years now. The first time I went I had never even been in a gym before and I was petrified. But it's been really great. I've learnt how to use all the equipment properly and can use all the scary machines I would never have touched on my own. And he pushes me much hardee than I would if I was just exercising on my own.
Go for it - you'll start to see results soon and that will really spur you on.

How are you feeling today? Hope that any stiffness is manageable (only answer to muscle soreness is to keep going).

I've had my personal trainer now for about 2 years - possibly longer.

Not only does she keep me fit and motivated, but she is also a great sounding board that I can offload stuff to whilst jogging. She is about ten years older than me (and I'm mid 50s) so I have huge respect for her fitness-wise - and I can take being nagged by her that I would find irritating from a younger trainer!
Best of all - she comes to my house so even on days where I feel like crap and I'm still in my nightie, she will get me out and active.

She has taken me from couch potato to taking part in 5km events, and I can jog continuously for an hour (just). I've also lost over a stone in weight (now under 10stone).

The goal we are currently working towards is a 25 mile charity bike ride in July. We have just this week started training for it and I'm really struggling to cycle up even quite gentle hills - but she assures me it is an achievable goal and I've just got to put the work in to be ready for it.Hmm

Financially we are really struggling, and I keep questioning whether we can afford this 'luxury' - but ........she does so much more for me than just the weekly exercise. I am more confident, motivated and happy than I can ever remember beingGrin
