Week 4 - New Year Bootcamp - Where We Really Get Going

Morning all!

Quick post from me as I have to go to work. Damn that RL!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Remember that in this week, it is still likely that you may see very little or even no loss. This is entirely normal and will happen no matter how well you have been following Bootcamp rules

It sounds, though, like some of you are eager to report losses anyway, so that's brilliant!

However, there's been a lot of falling off the wagon recently, so can I suggest that we really get focused in this week and make sure that we don't allow the carbs to creep back into the diet? From here on, we're only really going to see losses of around 1-2lbs a week, so let's not sabotage things.

3lb on for me as a result of a boozy Saturday night and a carby hungover Sunday.

I know that my body is ketogenically adapted after 6 months on this WOE so hopefully a very strict bootcamp week will shift it. I'm still a wally for getting into this position in the first place when I'd been doing so well. Blush

Bootcamp Food Porn so we can share our photos of yummy food - I personally find it innspiring, seeing something looking so delicious wanting to try it :) Hope more of you can add to it. I just take a quick snap with my camera phone before I tuck in!

Ok, official weigh in result - 4lb this week making a total of 13lbs in Bootcamp! Am pleased. Hopefully, when this 2 week period stops, I may drop another lb or 2.

Anyone know how man carbs in 2 tablespoons of ground almonds?

what vegetables are good to roast please?
I did parsnip, onion , carrot and pepper last night all of which I know are on the carb side. In my defense I never do roast pots any more and am not stricktly boot camping it at the moment.
Any ideas would be great please

Good morning all.

Arse, 2 pounds on for me. I'm pretty pissed off because I've been eating like a low carb swot and really enjoying it BUT i did have some rum and sodas on Saturday. I'm annoyed because its only one night, I had a great time and all but 2lbs seems ridiculously unfair.

Maybe I'm eating too much? This week I'm going to watch portion size and snacking.

On the positive side, I don't feel like throwing in the towel as I have done on every other diet I've ever been on. Just don't want carbs anymore because I am seeing so many other non-weight related benefits. But I feel like I'm condemned to be fat for the rest of my life. My body just doesn't like letting go of fat. I didnt see the losses most of you did in the first couple of weeks and am now only 1lb down from where I started.

My DH told me to just stick with it and it will happen eventually. I guess he is right. I can sustain this into the very long term. I just need to tweak it I guess until I find what works for me.

jaq I was very sorry to read your news. We went through similar a 3 years ago. It's incredibly tough to be strong and supportive and cope with your own grief too.

Eventually the sadness of the most recent memories of the illness have got replaced by happy ones of what was like before he got ill and things have got a little easier. Please take very good care of yourself.

Reposting my sad results from the week 3 thread, sorry, didn't notice you move :-)
Aaaarrrrgh my lovely 7 week DS2 decided eating every hour is so much more fun. I am seriously sleep deprived but was feeling quite cheerful as the weight was going down. But noooo, it was too good to be true, for some very strange reason I had a massive gain of 3 pounds this morning, which is a gain of 1 pound since last week. Now I am sleep deprived and not happy . (I do know we have been warned about no loss this week, but my positive thinking was misapplied here, I was still convinced I'd lose 1lb at least. Sulking smiley.)
PS for once I am glad I was weighing myself every day, at least I saw the smaller numbers on the scales, so I kind of know there is hope iyswim

good morning everyone, well done on making it to week 4! if you don't weigh in on Mondays that's fine - I won't be doing spreadsheet fiddling until about friday this week so weigh in when you can

i'm just 1lb down but that's ok

this week i will be:

  • back to bootcamp basics, i have been slacking and allowing carb creep. this Will Not Do

  • DOING SOME EXERCISE. i used the snow as an excuse not to do any running (pathetic when i have shred dvd at home), though i did do some walking in the evenings as i sit on my arse all day at work and have a 1 hr 15 mins commute by car each way. although i find it's not essential for losing weight, i do need to do some exercise for my mood and fitness, so this laziness must not be allowed to continue

Just made thetasty whey pancakes again, they are just so yummy! A really filling breakfast as well.

I think dinner tonight will be cabbage cabonara, luckily my kids thinks this is amazing and keep asking for it. Not sure what lunch will be, maybe tuna lettuce wraps.

I'm not on spreadsheet as I only use my phone mn, but even with my falling off the wagon on Fri/Sat I have lost a lb. I'm very happy with that, and hope if I stick strictly to bootcamping this week I'll lose more. Smile

3lb off for me which I am delighted with despite having a little gravy on my roast dinner yesterday ( with roast swede instead of potatoes). Who knew I could eat 6 different veggies all on one plate?

willie I too used the snow as an excuse not to run and am off running in a sec. 7 miles after a 2 week break (training for a half marathon). This may not go well!

So I decided not to be all ostrich-y about it and have spreadsheeted - so have officially put on 1.6lbs since last Monday :( I suppose it could be worse! But annoyed with myself for being so silly on Saturday. Have a 30th birthday party this Saturday but I hope I have learned from my mistakes. In the meantime, 2 boiled eggs for breakfast, shredded cabbage with mustardy mayo dressing with some salami and mozzarella for lunch and then salmon for dinner with creamy leeks and courgettes and some roast celeriac.

Morning Smile

I havent checked in for a few days. I resisted my son's birthday cake and thankfully he didnt notice, but when we went out for dinner on fri night I had a couple of small crackers that my husband had with a cheeseboard (he cant eat wheat so dd and I shared them) To be fair, they were lovely Grin

I had a few drinks yesterday, and my weightloss today may be dehydration so although Ive recorded it on the spreadsheet I may update tomorrow if its not 'proper' weightloss.

Havent had breakfast yet and not sure what I'll be having for lunch, but Im doing sausages and veg for dinner!

STS this week for me - but I knew that was a probability likely as a) it's Week 3 and I've already lost 12 lbs and b) I had a planned "cheat" on Friday - which in the event probably wasn't too bad, with only some oatmeal (in the haggis and the cranachan), a tiny amount of sugar (in the cranachan), some wheat flour in the black pudding, two white chocolate coffee beans and 2.5 glasses of wine (including half a glass of a sweetie).

Back on to full Boot Camp, but am allowing a few berries and a couple of brazil nuts.

Still pleased with the overall progress. I have a belt which is already in 2-3 notches! :)

Weighing in at 109lbs, so 2lbs off for me this week, finally getting (just below) my target. I am on maintenance! I also finished my P90X routine, so after 90 days of Low Carbing, and 90 days of P90X, I am done! Have uploaded final Day 90 (before and after) photos on my profile...

I am pleased with the results and to be honest, it wasn't that hard (1hr work out a day, 6 days a week, plus Zone Diet) and Bikram Yoga (90 min sessions) twice a week, for the past 12 weeks.

Now how to keep the weight off and stay fit? Am currently surrounded by packers as they move us half way across the world from Kenya to the UK - I hope the cold weather doesn't make me start to comfort eat!

Well done all losers! Thanks Biwi for letting me start this journey with you back in October (even though the Zone is not exactly the same as Bootcamp).. you have all been a huge support.

hi everyone, i'd like to (re)join bootcamp please? By last June I'd got down to 11 stone which is pretty much the losest I've weighed in my entire adult life.

Why did i give up? i don't know, i guess i just started thinking 1 potato here, a slice of bread there and before I knew it I was back to eating high carb crap.

The result, I feel awful and my clothes don't fit. I look like someone has inflated me with a bike pump. This morning I weighed in at 12st 5 pounds.

My first target is to be sub 12 stones, hopefully by mid February
Then 11.7 st by easter
And 11st by summer.

Gah. Had funny eyesight all morning, feeling sick and a horrible headache, really stabby one even after taking 2 paracetamol. WTF is this?
