By my calculations you could lose 54 lbs by August,

Aim for 2lb a week, eat strictly 1200-1500 calories a day. Do more exercise- take every opportunity to move about- every little helps.

Good luck! I might join you in this, but I'm going for 20lbs by 24th march first

all right. I will be your buddy. how did the shred go? today, I am starting on trying to get back to normal healthy food and healthy eating and smaller portion sizes. And a walk at lunchtime. I would like to loose 37-38 pounds by summer so the same weight loss level. My interim goal is 22 lbs by end March.

Looks like we're all in a similar boat then.

I went to bed hungry last night

But on the scales this morning I had lost weight so that's a massive consolation!

why did you go do bed hungry? did you not eat enough? how about some hot water or herbal tea?

Report
freedom2011 · 11/01/2013 08:56

today's menu is porridge with raisins for breakfast, salad and a boiled egg for lunch. Maybe half a slice of rye bread for lunch if I really hungry. winter vegetable pie from bbcgoodfood for dinner to disguise my weight loss plans from DH. I will do my best to avoid eating anything else.

Can I join you? Can't start until Monday because I am hosting/sharing a huuuuuge celebration weekend from 12pm today and I know there is no point beating myself up about it!

Daren't weigh myself but I know I am in the region of 40 - 45lb overweight and I am on a show-your-body-more-than-you-ever-thought-you-would holiday in August. With athletic friends.

Ok yesterday I ate breakfast and lunch at work- so limited choice. I worked from 7.30am-4pm and then 6.45pm-11pm.... I ate-

2 slices of toast and marmite and a satsuma for breakfast,

for lunch, 1 tortilla wrap with a small ladle full of chicken mixed with onion and peppers and fajita spicy sauce, then a helping of salad- cucumber, tomato, coleslaw, beet root, and a banana.

Then for dinner I had a sandwich with low fat cheese, healthy living salad cream tomato and cucumber, a handful of grapes and a mouthful of super thin (waitrose variety) popcorn (a whole huge pack is only 100 calories and I literally had one mouthful). Then during my evening shift I had a green apple.

I drank water and about 4 cups of black tea throughout the day.

I think that is probably actually quite a lot, but it's less than I was eating last week iyswim so yes, I did feel hungry. And hot water doesn't stop me feeling hungry, but it's a nice idea...

12.11 and you want to loose over 50lbs OP? How tall are you?

fair enough felicity I am feeling a bit hungry too today although I am sure I have eaten enough to keep me going. I will make the winter veg pie now and eat it slowly. I didn't manage not to snack at all. But I had an apple instead of my usual 3 digestives and a slice of cake. I am telling myself it will get easier as I get used to not being overstuffed.

Yes I think you are right, I reckon the first weeks the worst for hunger, but I find weeks two and three the worst for wanting to give up!

I'm 5ft 7
I ideally want to be 10 stone

The shred was ok but I've been to soft play with the children after school and now I'm home and I'm exhausted. I may have had a small bowl of chips at the play centre

Ah sorry, forgive my shite maths!

10st is about a st and a half under the top of the NHS 'healthy' weight bracket.

I'm the same height as you and considerably heavier Sad

ah, I am 5ft7 too. only I also find it calories are just there saying - "consume me" when out. I went to see a band yesterday and just didn't want to only drink water. I had a glass of prosecco when out and a hot chocolate when I came home. One day at a time. Today's menu - porridge with raisins. Remains of winter veg pie for lunch. Beef and mushroom stew with a bit of rice for dinner. Maybe I will force myself to walk again today.

Today's menu has been awful nutrition wise, (and eating small regular meals wise) but quite tasty and low calorie...

I have had, 200 calories of popcorn (made up of a variety of flavours- DH did the shopping Hmm ). A 700 calorie Romana goats cheese and spinich pizza express pizza, a glass of apple juice, a glass of Rosé and some grapes!

Although scales were down again this morning so that's good can't control the urge to weigh several times a day

It seems unless I starve myself for days I don't loose a pound

I'm not starving myself but definitely hungry and a bit irritable by the time mealtimes come round. And tired because I am not used to moving so much.
Today, porridge and raisins, lunch: lentil soup from a packet dinner: salmon, rice and salad. And a walk.

Only, that doesn't sound good, how are you planning your menu?

This week I'm aware that I'm loosing weight just by eating less because its the first week of my diet, a couple of weeks down the line I fully expect to have to be more careful with types of food as well.

only I am only going to have lost anything this week because I have cut all biscuits, chocolate and cake snacking, drinking mostly water and scaled down my portion size. And I'm going to do some time of exercise daily for 30 minutes to an hour.

groovee Thanks for the tip, might do that later when I level off in any weight loss. Until then I am trying to get used to less huge portions and healthier food as normal.
