3 weeks to look amazing!

I'm going to a 30th in 3 weeks and want to look amazing as certain people from my past will be there!!

I am 9st 11 (5ft5) and want to drop a few pounds if I can!

I know I've left it a bit late in the day but any advice on quick wins?

Hi I'll join u im 9 st 12 was 12st 8 in April and want to lose another 12 pounds now I'm sticking to 1200 calories a day and plan to do an hrs walk a day and start swimming next week

In 3 weeks I reckon u could lose half a stone Smile

Try the 'my fitness pal' app, it tells you the calories of all your daily food. I started on 1st July at 10st 8 now I'm 9st 1.
I'm also on 1200 a day.
You could def lose 6 lbs in 3 weeks.

Doing mfp, I have lost 12.5 kgs since the birth of my last child.

Felix - Mfp is great but 1200 calories just isnt very much.

Monday I ate:
Two slices of whole grain toast and marmite

Bowl of soup
Fat free activia yoghurt

Chicken and veg stir fry with rice

Melon
Plum
Nectarine

Water, tea and sugar free squash.

Yesterday I had pretty much the same but had shreddies for breakfast and noodles with my dinner. Mon was 1200 calls, yesterday was 1300.... The noodles sent me over!!

I don't feel I need to eat a LOT more, I think a slice of toast with lunch and a banana would probably do the trick....

Any advice on whether I could eat stuff to keep me fuller longer or is this just my body adjusting? Thanks!

Get cleverer with your calories and drop the bread. Don't have toast have poached egg, slice of ham and some asparagus.

Have a massive salad with a tuna steak or canned tuna mixed with mayo.

Stir fry vegetables and a small portion of brown rice. (half a microwave pkt)

or thai beef salad


Go on to BBC Good Food and make up some morrocan stew or such like and take note of the calories of the portions.

If you have pasta, have a small amount but a massive salad. Load your salad to make it interesting. Out in coriander, seeds, mango, chilli to make it feel more tasty.

I find keeping carbs low is the best way to go. Eat eggs every day, they keep you full. I'm consistently losing 2lb a week (when I can lay off the wine!) since birth of ds2.
An example of my day is:
Breakfast:
Pancakes with strawberries and total 0% fat Greek yog. Pancakes made with 2 eggs and 2 oz cream cheese.
Or scrambled eggs
Lunch:
Salad with mackerel or tuna, lots of beetroot
Snack:
Smoothie with Greek yog, strawberries and banana
Or nuts and raisins or a boiled egg
Tea:
Steak, mushroom, tomatoes, green beans or salmon, spinach, broccoli and asparagus with hollandaise sauce
Or chicken curry and cauliflower and broccoli

Thanks for the tips ladies - I will try ditching the bread....

In 4 days of watching my intake generally and 2 days of mfp I have dropped 1.5st so fingers crossed at least it's working. I just don't want to be hungry ALL the time!!

I'm going to have to be a bit better at planning but that's not impossible!!

Sounds like you're doing really well. I agree with pp's try cutting down the carbs a bit (ESP white) and bulk up on veg/ salads. If I'm really hungry I have a cuppa soup - veg one is 55calories, that fills ne up and keeps me going ;-)

Iloveberries, I'll join you, if that's ok. I've a weekend away to Paris with a glamorous friend in 2 weeks. Like you I'm 9st11 and 5'4. I managed to lose 1st over the summer on 1200 cal / day - also tracking with a thread on MN. But stuck at this since hol s 6 weeks ago.
Agree with everyone else, think low carb the way to kick start the wt loss again. Would love to get to 9 7 by the 16 th..... Eeeek!
That's only 4 lbs... Doable surely?
Ok off to lurk on some low carb threads.

Just noticed my mistake in my earlier post.... I'd lost 1.5lbs in 4 days, not 1.5st! That would be freaky!

I had a hard boiled egg snack today which worked really well! But I have been being a bit less strict, going for between 1200 and 1500 cals. At 9st8 I'm not overweight (i dont think!) so I don't want to go too far and make myself hungry but I'm loving the app so thanks so much for the tip felix!

Glad I've got some fellow last minute slimmers to swap tips with!!
