I've just joined slimming world, today is day 2.
Please can all those who have joined please come along and share your experiences, what you have eaten today, goals and cheer each other on?
I did ww 4yrs ago and lost 3.5 stone, this time I'm aiming to lose about 1.5 stone by christmas.
Today I've eaten a huge fruit salad and natural yogurt breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and I'm having jacket potato, salad and steak for dinner followed by all my syns on alcohol with dh as it's our wedding anniversary this week.
I'm eating alot of veg, bit extra to usual I think and beans and eggs which are probably not helping. I've had to cancel a playdate this morning cus i still stink!
xroads I am the same. I stink it's the first week of the diet and I'm hoping it will calm down. My poor kids!
kinky - Thanks, I have a few stone to loose, ideally 2 but 2.5 would be fab. Getting to a group wouldn't be easy for me, plus I'm not sure I would enjoy it. I did WW before but ended up eating differently from the kids, I love how doing the SW we can eat at the same, I'm just a bit worried that I may not be doing it right & defeat the object & undo any good work I'm doing! Am a bit confused about bread on the extra easy & thanks for your offer!
1 slice off an 800g w/meal loaf (just w/meal) or 2 slices off a 400g w/meal loaf = 1 healthy extra b.
Thanks for that kink! Helpful! I feel like I'm literally non stop eating which is better than other weight loss programmes which make me constantly think of food.
I do need some inspiration for nice things to eat tho. Is there a baking recipe book for SW at all? I've got a cupboard full of flour and stuff and now stumped as to what I can do with it all.
Lost another pound, at least it's steady! If I carry on losing 1lb a week I will be another half a stone lighter by christmas!
Can i join pls - started yesterday - not joined a group yet as not ready for scales but am guessing i need ro lose 4-5 stone (that looks sooo mich worse typed out!
Started todat with mushroon bacon and egg and have made fee soup for lunch - wish me luck - i have a whole new wardrobe in suitcases that doesnt fit!

Hello. Just thought I would share my SW story. I joined just over a year ago and was extremely overweight. Fat. I was a dress size 22/24 and hated it. I had been overweight for 10 years since the birth of DD2. My weight gaining every year and then I put on a stone in the 6 months around my fathers death. Last september I decided it was time and joined SW. It took me 9 months to lose 5 stone and all in all I have now lost 5 stone and 11lbs. I am a size 12/14 but mostly 12!
My life is changed! I have always been confident but now I feel great and I am confident about my looks. I love clothes shopping and have discovered all sorts of shops that I could not shop in before. I love Phase Eight, Fat Face, White Stuff. DH bought me my first designer dress this year and I felt a million dollars in it. I feel so different now, I train once a week with a trainer and take 2 classes a week at the gym, usually Zumba and indoor cycle.
Now I am at my target weight, I still stick to plan but I do indulge once in a while and am not as strict as I was BUT if a lb creeps on I am back to basics again! I only put on 2lbs over the summer holidays even on holiday and lost those in aweek when I got back and the DDs were back at school.
Stick with the plan or whatever works for you because nothing feels as good as being smaller than when you got married . I love life smaller and I am never going back!
newpup - thats great to hear your story. Its the incentive we all need knowing its achievable.
Day 6 - still all going ok - have fallen off the wagon quicker than this many times before. How are you all doing?
And how many syns in an extra portion of milk (1% or semi skimmed)
Since I have last posted I have lost a bit and have now lost a total of 3 stone 6 pounds (so it is about 8 pounds in 5 weeks).
I did get very unmotivated at just losing 1/2 a pound a week, I didn't even have a week where I put on, just very small losses, but this week I was 4 1/2 down. Hopefully back on track, I would like my 4 stone sticker by Christmas and be on the way to my 4 1/2, as there are 7 weigh ins to go it is hopefully doable.
I have now given away all my size 24 suits, as I don't intend for them ever to fit again, and am finding my new size 20 trousers are a bit baggy.
Can anyone post a weekly meal planner but not the one from the website. I prefer green days as i like pasta and rice but sometimes cant think of what to have in the pasta. Help .
Hi. I have just joined SW online. I could do with any tips to succeed. So far I have written and shipped for a plan of dinners, I can't bring myself to plan all lunches as well. I have filled the fruit bowl and made one of the salad drawers in the fridge my 'super free' drawer. One question - why is bread limited but pasta and potatoes are not?
Hi can I join you - in need of inspiration. I joined SW last night after taking 6 weeks to get the courage to finally walk through the door of the club. I've got 4 stone and 4lb to lose. I almost lost the will today but was proud to say I walked away from the chocolate desert calling my name in the shop. Last time I did slimming world they only had red or green so I'm struggling with the concept of eating potatoes with meat etc. I'm sure I will get the hang of it soon.
Yes you can. I havent joined a club am trying to do it from home but just need help with what to have. I have a lot of magazines but as the family dont need to do it the portions are to big and not really a fan of freezing foods. Just need some basic quick meal ideas to get me started.
Hi could I join as well please? I am also in need of inspiration. I joined SW 8 weeks ago and lost 10 lb in the first 5 weeks. Was really pleased but have lost my way a bit now- haven't lost any weight over the last 3 weeks- because I seem to stick to the plan all week and then have weekends where I completely lose the plot. I have another 10lb to lose...
I have been eating lots of rice and pasta too. Chilli always good- I use onions, peppers, kidney beans in a chilli sauce, quorn mince and then tinned tomatoes and a stock cube or 2.
Also eat a veggie stroganoff type sauce - onions, mushrooms, peppers, courgettes etc all cooked in fry light- then add a cup or 2 of veg stock. Simmer for about 10 mins until most if the liquid has disappeared, season and then remove from heat and stir in a couple of tbsp quark. Is good with pasta or with rice.
I also like lots of stir fried vegetables cooked with half a sachet of old El Paso fajita spice mix - 2 syns. Then served with rice and low fat guacamole ( 1 syn per level tbsp).
I find cold pasta salads for lunch at work to be a bit harder but like cold pasta with feta cheese (healthy A), red onions, peppers and cucumber.
Hope one of these ideas might appeal. I am always looking for very simple and easy ideas that are quick to do.
Hi can i join?I am planning to start on monday,i cant get to a group so i have bought the books online.I have done sw before and it worked really well but i stopped after my wedding and put it bacvk on again,but its the only plan ive ever enjoyed and been able to stick to so will be giving it a go again.
I've just joined SW today. Does anyone have ideas for breakfast? I live on cereal on toast.
Need to lose weight - getting married in summer 2014, want to have slimmed down by next summer so I can start trying on dresses.
Hi. Haven't been on for a while. I've been with SW for 10 weeks and got my 2 stone award last week. Really pleased with my progress, for the first time ever I feel like this is achievable for me. Another 24lbs to go to my target and feeling good. Thank you Slimming World!!
For me breakfast is usually fruit and yogurt (love banana and vanilla Mullerlight) but if you're bored of cereal then maybe a full English is an alternative occasionally??
thank you just I've done a meal plan for this week, I've put eggs for a couple of mornings and fruit salad (and fat free yoghurt). Just need quick easy things!
