I've just joined slimming world, today is day 2.

Please can all those who have joined please come along and share your experiences, what you have eaten today, goals and cheer each other on?

I did ww 4yrs ago and lost 3.5 stone, this time I'm aiming to lose about 1.5 stone by christmas.

Today I've eaten a huge fruit salad and natural yogurt breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and I'm having jacket potato, salad and steak for dinner followed by all my syns on alcohol with dh as it's our wedding anniversary this week.

Oh hello xroads! I've just rejoined too! On wednesday and was horrifed at my weight but am raring to go.

I did SW years ago and lost three stone and felt amazing. This time i have about 4 to lose to be a comfortable 10-12 (my dream!).

Since Wednesday i have been good but went out last night for a family meal to a gorgeous thai restaurant and scoffed a lot of yummy food. I didn't drink as i offered to be the designated driver as i didnt want to waste syns on alcohol.

Today i had for brunch two slices of wholemeal toast with two rashers of bacon and a load of grilled tomatoes. For a late lunch i had a ham salad and i have just had a starter of grilled asparagus wrapped in parma ham with balsamic instead of my preferred mayo. Im having chicken salad and baked spud for supper.

Good Luck - if you're interested in slimming world recipes look here

Your food sounds yummy!

Today I had a sneaky peek on the scales and I won't be disclosing what I've lost so far as I'm waiting for my official weigh in BUT lets say it's looking good!

We walked to the pub last night so that was my 15mins of walking done and I'm planning to do swimming on Monday and Thursday this week.

This morning I've had a banana then 2 poached eggs on whole meal bread, I've planned tuna, pasta and sweetcorn for lunch possibly with a bit of light mayo. Then lamb dinner with lots of veg and new potatoes for dinner, so far so good!

Wow Xroads sounds like you're doing well if you can tell from the scales already! Keep it up - I definitely think exercise is key to losing weight.

Me, DH and the DCs went for a bike ride this morning and i have just calulated the route online and it was 6.5 miles so I'm chuffed!

I made scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on dry wholemeal toast when we got back. It was quite dry but i washed it down with a coffee.

We had a BBQ as a late lunch and i had a sausage, some new potatoes, chicken (no skin) and LOADS of salad drenched in balsamic again.

Tonight I'm going to have baked beans on toast with grated cheese on top.

I'm really hoping to get a good weight loss at my first weigh in on Wednesday but I'm worried about the amount of Thai food i had on Friday night.

I went a tiny bit pear shaped yesterday, ended up skipping lunch and having 4 mini cheedars and a liquid lunch in the pub (influence of my older sister!) then because they came for dinner I made pudding and though I tried to be good and have fruit, fromage frais for pudding I still have a tiny bit of apple pie with some weightwatchers custard and a couple more drinks. Oh and I had a yorkie on my dinner!

Today is a new day so far I've museli, fruit, yogurt, banana, apple, muller light, cous cous and salad and a ww choc bar.

Going swimming tonight and think I'll have jacket potato and salad and beans for tea and no drinking!

Can i join you please? I still have at least 2 stone of baby weight to shift and I am miserable and cant fit into any of my clothes. I was a slim size 14 before which suits me really but I'm now a 16-18 and feel fed up with it. I have been feeling tired and lethargic and sometimes quite depressed and I have finally faced up to the fact its because I am carrying too much weight Blush
I have all the paperwork from before so wont be re joining if i can help it. My friend and I have just sat and planned for the week so hopefully we are off to a good start.
Pasta n sauce here I come.
Obstacles this week are a training day on Wednesday (bring and share lunch) and off to the in laws for the weekend which normally involves take always Hmm
Can anyone explain if the points system has changed in the last year?

Hi yes please do join Smile

It's amazing how losing weight can alter your mood, I've been feeling low about mine for a while, I'm glad I've finally done something about it and now instead of it creeping up its going to be coming down and I can stop beating myself up about it.

Today is a new day, we can do it!

Not joining a group, but have most of the gumf/know the rules. Goal is to lose 2.5 stone (my ideal would be nearly 4, but I am trying to set more realistic goals) am in no hurry and accept there will be peaks and troughs along the way.

Planning on walking and/or swimming three times a week. I have a chronic health condition, so high impact exercise is out at the moment.

Hi all. I started today with quorn sausages beans egg and mushrooms. Very nice.I felt a bit greedy as dh walked by and said "i'm on a diet you know" through a mouthful haha.
xroads Yes I feel better for taking control instead of moaning. Its no surprise to me how much better you feel when you lose weight. I lost loads after my ex left me and was so pleased I forgot to be upset Grin
I have a cupboard full of lovely clothes that i want to get back into. I love fashion and used to be a bit of an individual dresser but I now feel I have to dress fairly frumpily as I am a bit fat Blush
Cant wait to get my confidence back.
Goal for me is enforced holiday with slim and fit in laws next spring. I cant bear the thought of them sneering at my flab.
Anyone got any food inspirations today. I have steaks for dinner going to have loads of veg and small baked spud with it.

Hi all, lovely to see you!

It's my first weigh in tomorrow and it can't come soon enough. I feel i need to have lost some weight to spare me on!

Rainbow I presume you're on Extra Easy today - yep you can really have as much as you like. Just remember to fill up on free veggies and salad with it - SW recommend a third of your meal should be free fruit, veg or salad. Your tomato sauce should count towards that.

Today, i have eaten a stilton salad brown roll for lunch then I'm just about to have a massive tuna salad.

Doesn't help that I'm salivating watching Great British Bake Off - it's pie week. My absolute favourite and weakness!!

Good luck everyone - keep going and sharing your tips and thoughts Smile

Hi all

Need to get motivated again, I joined slimming world last year as I had my wedding in June and managed to loose just over a stone to reach my target weight. We had a lovely wedding and amazing honeymoon but with all that over with I'm almost back to where I started!

I re joined 2 weeks ago and lost a 1lb and maintained this week so need get a bit more motivated I think and exercise more.

My secret this week to cure my sweet tooth of an eve is i have been eating a few of them mikado's rather than my usual kit kat, at half a syn each I feel like I can have a few more and still not use as many syns as I would of if I had eaten a kit kat and Tesco have them on offer for 69 p at the moment so even more of bonus!!

good luck to you all with your SW journey. I lurk on the Days of Doom threads - we have a truly lovely SW consultant on board over there. I may now lurk on here too, if you will let me, but I am currently a bit and need to re-motivate. I especially struggle with breakfast , and lunch, because I work over lunch and then can't be bothered when I get in.

Can I join too?
Started yesterday,i weigh 11.6 which is gross as i am only 5ft!! I am vegetarian and am planning on sticking mostly to soups. I need to lose 2 and a half stone by Jan 2013.

I am going to south america to marry my OH. All the girls there are beautiful and long limbed. I refuse to waddle down the aisle like a big fat sweaty ginger walrus!!

I love seeing all the recipes that join these threads!

Riadiculous · 13/09/2012 11:05

here is good for recipes too.

ledkr, I recognise your name and I think it was on a SW thread? Bear in mind I have been doing this many years, and am heavier now than when I startedBlush

I had one of those days yesterday too, started well with porridge, then ended up staying at work after lunch for a meeting, followed by a biscuit eating fest when I got in because of no lunch.

I will get re-motivated, I'm just stuck in one of those "SW isn't for me" ruts. Which will go away if I stay on the boards and read of successesSmile

Hi everyone, hope it's ok for me to post here.

I've been to SW years ago, but i always ended up pregnant and came off plan. Manshape joined a Monday night group t'other week and lost 12.5lbs in his first week, and this has really inspired me to get off my fat arse and do something about my weight too, so i've joined a class on Weds evening - last night was my first night. Practicalities of childcare mean we can't go together to the same class, so this is a good compromise for both of us and means we each get 'time out' each week to do something for us, which with five children between us isn't always easy.

He was actually eating LOADS.

Over the week he had

Cooked breakfasts - bacon, Weightwatchers sausages (1 syn each) eggs fried in frylight, piles of mushrooms, tomatoes and beans

steak and SW chips with loads of salad

Pork steaks and jackets with cheese and lots of salad

The cottage pie thats in the 7 days 7 ways book - it was really good, everyone loved it.

Free tuna pasta mix and free coleslaw.

During the week we also had burgers at our sons birthday party and a slice of birthday cake too.

Tonight we're having gammon with SW wedges, fried egg (in fry light) and beans.

He also filled up on grapes mainly and for syns he liked the sour cream and onion snak a jaks - 4.5 syns per pack.

We're really enjoying our food, and so are the children, which is always a bonus.

We share it, tbh. I usually do the main evening meals, but he'll make the lunches and breakfasts, though last night he made a wicked steak and jacket with creme fraiche(sp?). Twas lovely.

I find batch cooking and using the slow cooker lots help get rid of the tedium of cooking.
