Birmingham hotel recommendation

hi,
Anyone recommend a hotel in Birmingham for me and Dd (4months) and friend (who may possibly be bringing their Ds (16months)).

Looking for somewhere pretty central as i'll be getting there by train and somewhere we can relax and chat. Thinking somewhere with a gym/pool would be nice. And if anywhere has babysitting services that would be great, if not somewhere with great room service food!

How much do you want to spend? The Hyatt is okay and the food is good. The SAS Blu is okay but not my favourite, don't like the feel of that building. Hotel du Vin is okay though some of the rooms do need updating, but yes great food. Crowne Plaza is a bit 'businessy' but might do.

Alternatively the Ramada is okay for rooms, and you could spend the money you save on having a good time.
