Weekend Break No Kids About 1 - 2 hrs from London?

We are lucky enough to have grandparents offer to take our 3 kids for a weekend in late november - anyone got any ideas for romantic places to stay no more than 2 hours drive away from London? Was thinking Cambridge or Brighton, maybe but any nice hotels people can recommend would be great x
