my mum and sister have agreed to buy food for the buffet after our wedding (in august) and i'm writing a list of suggestions for them.

they want to get as much pre-cooked/pre-prepared stuff as possible so that they don't have to spend hours cooking (don't blame them)

i'm veggie, so i'm asking for them to get loads of veggie stuff so that i can have some decent food at my own wedding.
i keep chickens, so they can't buy any dead chicken food.
and any meat they do buy has to be organic (otherwise it kind of defeats the object of being veggie!)
and any fresh stuff has to be british and in season.

Why don't you just have the whole thing veggie? It would be easier than them trying to find organic free range cocktail sausages or whatever. Cheaper I should think as well.

Well organicstuff willcost more
can they afford it?

oh, yes, i'm writing lists for everything!

the list was primaily to give them ideas so i didn't end up with an array of sausage rolls and cheese sticks.

i hate boring food!!

(sis is veggie too, but very non-fussy - she's cheap and cooks meat for her DH and DSs)

Besom and compo: am nto allowed to entertain the idea of having a veggie only buffet.
according to DF, and my dad, that's just weird...
hence the organic meat.

i don't mind contributing to the cost if necess.

mind you, they have agreed to buy food for the buffet so while on the face of it yanbu, otoh are your requirements going to send them over budget?

Perhaps (if you haven't already ) its worth broaching the subject with them as they may find it difficult to say to you?

nellie!

don't worry, none of my family has a problem expressing such issues

the bit i felt most Bridezilla-ish about was the chicken thing.

i wrote "DO NOT buy ANY chicken products.
(I will be very annoyed if you do and it will ruin my day: even if you think ?but people will expect chicken and it won?t matter?. It will matter to me and I will throw a barney fit. (and don?t even think about doing it just to a) see if I?m serious or b) to wind me up.) "
