Gift for wedding couple we barely know...

We have been invited to the wedding of our hairdressers. I don't see these people other than when I go to get my hair cut and the same with my husband. However, they have asked us to their wedding (eve do) and I think it would be nice to go. Like I say, we are not friends with them by any means, but I think it was nice of them to invite us (though it was an informal 'come and have a drink with us' kind of invite rather than a written invitation).

So my question is - what do we give as a gift? We don't know them well enough to know their taste. Do we just give cash / gift card? And if so, how much?
