Selling wedding things after the day

Just that really! We have a super tight budget to do it on so looking at getting as many things second hand pre-loved as possible, I've heard about 'bridal boot sales' where people sell things on after their wedding but when I've looked they're all miles away (London etc and I'm very North!) so was just wondering if anyone knew of places/ways to buy other people's wedding things when they're finished with them, other than eBay...

Join a wedding forum, I sold lots of my wedding things to other people on the forum (inc my wedding dress) after our wedding day. There will be others that want to seek things on too.

Facebook wedding pages, find ones local to you. I brought and sold quite a bit on these. Great fun too

it's dresses only, but I bought my wedding dress off stillwhite.co.uk, and so that might be a good place to sell? Can't tell you what the selling experience is like, but it was easy to contact sellers and buy.

Buy your rings in the sales so you can afford to buy something a bit more expensive but within your price range.

Start selling your old or unwanted stuff on e-bay/car boots sales that you do not need anymore to generate extra cash to supplement your small budget.

for eg. I recently sold some gold bracelets that I inherited for 2k. If you set your mind to it it is amazing how much you can raise.

Open a high interest, fixed term notice account where you can save specifically for your wedding.

Cancel Christmas gift s this year, just buy small token presents if need be.

Cancel your annual holidays.

Cancel hobbies/subscriptions for a year

Have a late afternoon ceremony (4/5pm) so you can invite everybody to the wedding ceremony & reception afterwards. That way you have one set of catering costs so you can feed everyone. My friend did this & avoided paying an additional 2k for a buffet.

Get married on a weekday as there are always good deals around. It is also a good way to manage your guestlist so only those closest will go to the trouble of taking leave for a mid week wedding.

This particular OP was asking for recommendations for where to look to buy other people's wedding things once they are finished with them, which your herlpful post didn't adress at all.

I bought most of my stuff in sales, boot sales and ebay, I have already started taking photos of everything to sell a few weeks time on ebay, dp keeps looking at our spare room full of bunting, crockery, birdcages, sweet jars, lace chair ties, table runners and looks worried like we will be imundated with the stuff for months.
