So I am planning to marry DP in approx 18 months, and we have to start planning now because we are also moving and setting up a business in that time as well! I think I have everything decided, please may you 'interview me' so I can make sure that I have everything ready to organise. Thanks

Xal, have you planned a hen do lasting a whole long weekend in a far flung location, demanding that those breastfeeding small children MUST attend, while carefully making sure most invited to the do know no one else? If you haven't done this your hen will be great smile

Have you asked photographer to make sure they get photo of the back of your dress?

Have you asked your most scarily pedantic friend to proofread your invitations and order of service before they go to print?

WayHarshTai Fri 23-Aug-13 18:12:30

Seminal cake?

Have you started collecting sylvanians to decorate your venue?

Have you offended anybody yet in order to cut the guest list down?
Have you read this thread?

You mentioned your first dance but what is your last dance?
Are you having best men / page boys / etc...

ChippingInHopHopHop Thu 22-Aug-13 00:46:02

Yes, do. It's a lot of wasted effort otherwise grin

xalyssx Germany Thu 22-Aug-13 00:24:21

Hmm that's a good point I must remember to let DP out of the dungeon the night before...

xalyssx Germany Thu 22-Aug-13 00:23:06

We are planning the dancing, DPs feet are bigger than a 3yr old though so it's quite awkward
No one is required to join in lol
No poems
I'm buying Mil her dress so I will make sure of that
I have had dance lessons before so we are good enough (I hope)
I'm going to have nice, light things that won't get oil or crumbs or sauce on me.... er that's impossible isn't it lol!

ChippingInHopHopHop Thu 22-Aug-13 00:13:52

Will you be there?

Will your DP be there?

Will the vicar/priest/celebrant/humanist/registrar/whoever official be there?

Honestly, anything else is just cream on the top smile

My exs mum is a harpist lol
We are sending std 6 months in advance
I am not inviting my uncle aunt and cousins as they are very rude and snobby
We are having as many children as possible
I don't want any money
What is a wishing well?
What is duffed?
They all have their ears pierced already
DP is in charge of legal stuff
I don't need doves thank you though

I really really hope this is a real wedding!

Rainbow Connection is an inspired choice for a first dance- my dad's brass band were playing during our ceremony and as we walked back down the aisle they changed abruptly from Vivaldi to the theme from the Muppet Show. 'Twas awesome grin

Closed your eyes will be played as I walk in
DP has chosen the recessional music
During the meal Mr. Rimsky will play his bicycle piano
Speeches will be: my dad his dad best man groom
Dress code will be smart space cowboy grin
We're having a sit down cream tea at half past 3ish
Getting wed at approx 2pm
Neither we will have a Morris group and a man on a piano bicycle
Guests will be watching Morris dancers
We will have dried flower petals thrown at us
We're not having extra people, we're having a cream tea and then sending everyone home lol
We're not having a list, I like spending money on people and I don't expect anything in return
We are buying outfits and jewellery and watches and shoes etc for parents and groomsmen and bridesmaids so that will be the presents
My granny is reading the owl and the pussy cat
We don't want orders of service
Rimsky will be the MC
Speeches before the meal

What time is the wedding? What are you goin to eat in the morning so you don't get ragingly pissed on the first glass of champagne/faint at the altar?

WafflyVersatile Wed 21-Aug-13 23:57:18

Does your cash gifts only poem scan properly?

Have you reminded your future MIL to wear a white dress?

Have you booked the dance lessons for the first dance?

Shodan Wed 21-Aug-13 23:51:21

Have you organised to do a spectacular first dance with your new husband, possibly including breakdancing and/or can-can moves?

Have you notified all guests, even Great-Aunt Martha with her dodgy hip, that they will be required to join in, flash-mob-style, or risk forfeiting their place at the buffet?

xalyssx Germany Wed 21-Aug-13 23:48:15

No ribbons
Lots of children
First dance Rainbow Connection by Kermit the frog
Tables will have names, they will be titles of our favourite books
We're having a seminal cake and some cupcakes
I will throw the bouquet
It's not in a church, and the room has a PA system
We don't have many friends

Doves.

You need Doves.

You could dye them to match your schemme. I'm sure there's an MNer who does a nice sideline in birdcolourisation.

Nerfmother Wed 21-Aug-13 23:44:02

Have you registered for class 2 NI conts ( sensible hat on as former tax adviser)

Nerfmother Wed 21-Aug-13 23:42:30

Have you insisted all bridesmaids pierce their ears?

Silverfoxballs Wed 21-Aug-13 23:42:20

I would do an advanced search under bridezilla here on MN for top tips on how to be one or avoid being one depending on what takes your fancy.

Have you told your bridesmaids not to get duffed?

BOF Wed 21-Aug-13 23:39:01

Will you have a wishing well?

Nerfmother Wed 21-Aug-13 23:38:58

Have u sent save the date cards?
Have u deliberately omitted a random relative from the invitations?
Have you invited all children bar from one particular family?
Have you written a poem demanding cash?
