hello think it's usually around the time they're read in the church you intend to marry in but check with the parish clerk who filled in the marriage registration bits etc. I'm sure it won't matter if it's a little <ahem> last minute as long as there's time to get them read 3 times... HTH
Thank you! I've been trying to call the reverend of my local church today but haven't been able to get through so panicking a bit. I only have 4 Sundays left before the wedding! Hopefully I can get through tomorrow fingers crossed.
They are read out in the three weeks preceding your wedding.
The vicar will say something like: I publish the banns of marriage between Robert Brown and Sandra Black of this parish and on the electoral roll of St John's, Newtown... This indicates to the congregation that they couple are marrying in the other church.
They can be read any time leading up to the wedding so long as it is done on 3 consecutive Sundays. We are getting married in the middle of August, but ours are getting read from the middle of June so quite some time before hand.
