Anyone getting married this year?

Can we have a planning thread? I'm getting married in July, a pretty typical civil wedding in a city hotel with around 150 guests and I'm just starting to organise myself - pretty sure there are things I'm forgetting. Is anyone else in the same kind of position and do you want to talk plans with me? Please?

I'm getting married this year, 1st June. Church wedding and village hall reception with roughly 160 guests in total. Still got a few things left to sort out including the rings, clothes for bridesmaids, pageboys and groom, decorations for the reception and planning the reception layout!

I'm getting married in July, ceremony in a village church then reception in a new forest pub, about 100 guests of which about 25 will be children, still got masses to organise, this weekend i started making our invitations by hand. So far i've sorted venue, dresses, and erm .... Nothing else.

I'm September - town hall and then also a New Forest pub - Buckets I wonder if it's the same one?? I am hideously organised so almost all done, bar my dress (having it made, appointment with seamstress in 6 weeks) and finishing all the craft stuff - tonnes of bunting, place settings, cake decorations etc. This is a good idea as I think my friends and colleagues are heartily sick of wedding chat...

I'm getting married in November! Very excited...
We have booked the venue, our 'Notice of Marriage' thingy is up in the town hall and I have decided on my dress (haven't got it yet- looking for second hand).
Hoping a relative is going to do my photos, I am doing the cake, DM is doing the flowers, DP is doing the invites.
We have chosen our rings but not bought then yet. DP is still looking for a suit he likes.

I need to get back on the wag on and stay on it but we have our menu stating for the wedding this week so that will be another cheat. Bums.

We haven't done our tasting yet, I suppose that's something else to add to the to-do list! Maybe after the dress fitting :) So far, though, we have got:
Booked both venues, decided on menu and drinks, booked DJ and photographer, ordered invites, got bridesmaids and flower girl dresses, groom and best man suits, bridesmaid gifts, my shoes and some jewellery, decided on and ordered flowers, bought stuff to make place names, got most of the decorating stuff, made wedding website and booked gift list (yet to choose stuff though), got my ring but not his, and booked ice cream cart for canapes. Oh, and the honeymoon is booked too...

I'm getting married in August! A village hall, catered by the fab cafe who own it (hall is upstairs from cafe), for 70 people, another 40 or so at night. Think Scottish weddings are quite different to English ones - is it rude not to have a free bar? I've never been to a wedding with one. Just ordered my dress, a gorgeous tea length one sooooo excited! Looking to order stationery from Folksy now...

We've booked most things as well - cars (just 2 mercs because my mum insisted on hiring cars), fantastic photographer, DJ (used to do indie club nights in Glasgow), lovely florists. Thinking about a videographer but not sure, have bridesmaids dresses, have a lovey hair band thing to wear which was my aunt's at her wedding. Still need to buy rings!

Mine shall be tea length too rough, better for dancing and messing about in the pub I reckon. I missed make-up off my list, that's sorted, not having hair done as have very short boy hair so no need really, though have ordered a little headband/birdcage veil thing. No cars either, as I never think people really see them, and it's a lot to pay for one or two pics with a random vehicle! I am coming in my Dad's big old Land Rover which will be cleaned and beribboned for the occasion (and has the added advantage that the bridesmaids will fit in too).

it's small world "littlemiss" , we have the vintage ice cream cart too, i'd forgotten we booked that at a wedding fair recently, although we've yet to pick flavours, that's another job on my long list. I'm a bit jealous of all those who are more sorted than i am. I keep telling myself that if they can do it in three weeks on tv, then i've got lots of time.

hello "prolific" the pub that we have booked for the reception is called 'the three tuns' they are having a wedding fair on 7th April from 11am if you want to visit and see the barn, which is the separate bit where they hold the functions.

I am also very nervous, just like you "purple blossom" i keep thinking so much could go wrong.

Same one as me then! I'll bet it's the same ice cream cart too :) Prolific if you book perhaps we can get a finder's fee... It's gorgeous and they're really helpful. I'm not nervous yet, except about tripping over when I walk in as I am exceptionally clumsy...

We're tying the knot early next year. Those of you that have/ are making invitations, any ideas of where I can get reasonably priced kits from? Everywhere online looks so expensive- we'd rather put more money behind the bar than on stationary. Or are you designing and making your own?

Invites are a tricky one, we have cut cost by not having a RSVP card just a free email address. Saves money and me losing the replies! I like virtual storage!

(Plus I can add it to my spread sheet easier but shh! That's a tad nerdy!)

We're getting people to RSVP via our free website, which then puts it is a spreadsheet FOR YOU including meal choices etc... So the invites just need to be quite simple and have the website address on, no rsvp cards or info sheets or anything as all the options, directions, hotels etc are online. We ordered invites from a website called Zazzle, 50 day and 50 evening for less than £100 including the envelopes and postage.
