A lamp shaped like a Japanese samurai torso given to us by DH parents neighbours. I thought it might have been something they were looking to get rid of but apparently their whole house is decorated in similar style and they actually thought we would like it. 5 years on its still in the roof waiting to be ebayed.

(Our gift 'list' was B&Q vouchers btw, obviously they couldnt bring themselves to do this, but we wouldn't have noticed if they had just got a card.)

Nice ethelina Grin
We were given 5 fruit bowls inspite of not having one on our list, one of which was roughly hewn handcarved wood which tipped over everytime you put anything in it Hmm

That definitely sounds like something someone wanted rid of. Grin It wasnt made by their own hands was it?

uh no thankfully, and it was from someone who will never actually visit so I believe we may have forgotten neglected to pack it when we moved and left it lurking in a cupboard for the new house buyers Blush

A turquoise plate with our names and the date on it in pink writing, with a cartoon of a bride and groom. It is in the loft.

First time around - a used tin opener - I knew it was used because there was rotting food on the cutter bit that goes round (very technical I know). It was from his side of the family. Nuff said.

Second time around - DH's ex sent a dead fish to our home address (a flat) to arrive on the wedding day - obviously meant to sit there for 2 weeks stinking the place out. Fortunately we had a concierge who signed for the fish and put it in his freezer. When we got back from honeymoon we told him he cound keep it and he said it was delicious!!

We got a butter dish, which was on our 'list' - with four gift cards on.

It was from my step-father's mother; his brother and SIL and their 2 children and their spouses; my step-sister, her husband and their three children; my step-brother, his wife and their four children.

I made a point of writing to them all individually to thank them.Grin

I had a box of Tesco "finest fudge". It was from a male friend. (friend of me and dh).

It was a longstanding joke between us. I gave him a box on his birthday once and he liked it and then for a few "occasions" after we exchanged boxes of this fudge. It only cost about £2

Friend came up to us as we were wandering around having photos done and really made me laugh "only the finest for your wedding day mr and mrs lollipop" Grin

A model of a Mini car. Neither DH or I drove then and we had zero interest in cars.

We were bought one towel - since you're buying for a couple surely you either buy two or none?

A pair of rubber ducks for the bath. One is a bride and one is a groom! Grin

Needless to say DD (3) loves them, although they don't float Hmm. She was getting frustrated with them in the bath shouting,"Grr! These stupid ducks can't swim!"

I think it was a fruit bowl. Or a fruit plate, or something.

It was a kind of abstract piece of etched glass, with random bits of its edges slightly turned up.

Sadly it got mislaid after the divorce and subsequent house move.

Snort @ black leather tea tray. Is that for when it's getting towards 4 o'clock in the dungeon?
