In fact, what a superb night! Those in the far SE will have to be patient and wait until closer to midnight. Those in the west have the best chance around midnight before a weather front moves in close to dawn. NW Scotland struggles. There are bits and bobs of clouds about but nothing too bad.
I bought some weatherproof beanbags for the garden a few months ago and they are absolutely perfect for this sort of thing, lie back on them and they are all comfy and warm, I nearly fell asleep out there last night .
Lovely clear sky here too (Leicester.) I spent a few minutes looking eastwards at 2am ish this morning and saw 'nuffink', but then we've got the problem of trying to get away from street lights so although I'll probably go and have a look later, I'm not really hopeful that I'll see anything.
Spotted one shooting star last night, letting the dogs out. Tonight's looking a bit too cloudy atm in Edinburgh. But the clouds have been mental today. Always looking like they're about to soak us, but nothing but a small shower.
