Really???????????????? I'm in Maidstone and had loads of snow on Wednesday night/tursday then had a huge blizzard this afternoon with heavy snow and lots of wind from 12.30 till about 4 then eased off now very light snow showers on and off. Road leading into our estate probably has layers of ice and snow but earlier on main roads were fine (mum and dad live on main road and its fairly clear) Probably have about 7 inches of untouched snow sitting in back garden (back door lock jammed so dd's can't play out there!)

LOL yes! I'm further north than you though. We had a few half hearted showers this afternoon but that's it.

Raining near Sittingbourne - my ds cried when he woke up and heard it!

With a bit of luck we've got so much lying show we'll get another sledging day in before it all turns to slush

Snowed heavily from 1pm through the night just outside Sittingbourne. Bit puzzled as Sky News say severe weather warning in place for us but BBC say all fine, not even a flurry Started snowing again this morning.

50ftQueenie · 10/01/2010 09:03

According to the Met the sever weather warning is no longer in place for us, but we are forecast some more light snow showers. Then...... rain.

We have loads of snow and have just been on the news.

We haven't driven for quite a few days now though other idiots people have been doing.

School finished early on Thursday and didn't open at all on Friday. DH thinks school will be shut again tomorrow.

dh just been to gym (he gets twitchy if he can't exercise every day ) and he said main roads all clear and snow is starting to melt and a lot slushier, I just cleared our drive and path and only took about 15minutes as very fluffy snow and easy to move. Am grateful as IL's had invited us and sil family for lunch today and was really looking forward to it and now we can go Had a very light snow shower but it turned to sleet after a few minutes.

DD1 school only closed due to ice and heating problems in Thursday it is always open as big school (90 children per year) and most are within walking distance (sadly we are not but my dad's site is closed for H&S reasons at the moment so he'll take her in his van tomorrow)

what's Medway like? Have to get there from maidstone 2mrw? We have lots of snow opiled up, terrible little roads but main roads ok.

blametheparents what is the forecast liek around you?

dd1 does to school in West kingsdown, and it has been closed all week. any chance of it opening next week, do you reckon? (was closed because of road access - it's in the lanes, so lethal in the ice/snow)

we're climbing the walls here (dd1 is ASD - it's been a loooooong wek!)

grumpypants - whereabouts do you need to get too as the side roads are not gritted or cleared?

just drove to the asda home living in maidstone and all was fine (well except the car park which was very sludgy) however only 4 cars in the whole car park so managed to get my refunds from asda and homebase very quickly!

Grumpypants - Medway is pretty snowy. The main roads are fairly clear but the side roads are sludgy. There are a fair few cars driving about so hopefully that will help to clear the roads some more. We're in Gillingham by the way.
