I see the papers are going a little bonkers at the prospect of pollution and saharan dust hitting us tomorrow.

It does look very mild again, temps getting up to just about the mid teens. A big high pressure sits to our south over north africa, bringing the sand and the warmth. As passing cold front brings some rain later tomorrow, the sand will be deposited onto surfaces, probably most noticeable on cars.

DEFRA have issued a pollution forecast for tomorrow due to the high levels of dust. descriptors of levels here

please ignore the smog warnings in the papers - this isnt smog, its sand - entirely different sort of particulates!

It happened to me in NE Italy when a Saharan dustcloud deposited itself on us overnight. Not even rain, just sand.
It was like walking in a Martian landscape and was about 2mm thick. The silicone holding in the panes of glass in my windows never recovered!

Woke up to a sandstorm in Alexandria when I lived there, weirdest thing ever! The med-harbour looked like Mercury

We've had sand here in the uk before, we get it most years, I have to say I could do with the weather being a bit colder, it's too humid and the store heaters are like blast furnaces!

My ds needs his room fan on every day or he can't sleep for the heat!

wow! those experiences sound amazing :) I think it will be more like a fine layer of dust tomorrow here.
