Sad I need a cardi. It's the beginning of the end isn't it?

I am relieved it is cooler and so is little dog. We managed to go for a walk yesterday at 3pm for the first time since the heatwave made it impossible. Don't wear cardis instead it's a blouson lightweight jacket for the 6.30am dog walk Smile.
I'm just upset the hours of darkness are already noticably increasing Sad

My Toddler had to wear a fleece for our early morning dog walk. This means i will be buying the new winter coats next week.

I noticed that digerd, it's so unfair. My tacky solar lights are coming on earlier and earlier. Sad

I am loving the cooler weather. I HATE hot weather it makes my eczema flare up really badly. Roll on autumn and winter!

Sorry you guys!

I noticed yesterday morning that I was chilly walking the dog. I also closed the windows at 6pm, have been leaving them open until we went to bed. Much, easier to sleep though. I did start thinking about winter coats for the DDs too!! Hope we have a little more sunshine for the rest of the summer hols although I am happy the heatwave is over. Honestly, I am more of an Autumn, Winter person.

The darker nights usually make me excited for Christmas, but its just making me nervous as starting uni approaches.
I am cold, had to shut the windows!

Ds asked how many days until Christmas. He nearly learned a new word...

I'm also feeling the cold - not impressed. Mind you, I grumble when it is too warm. I am a multi temperature complainer.

I always find that at the very end of August, there's a 'certain smell' or a 'something in the air' in the evenings that tells me that Autumn/winter's coming but I'm not sensing the change yet. Things are on the turn though ~ my hanging baskets are beginning to look straggly and our infra~red light came on when DH and I were out in the garden at 8.45pm last night.

I think the worst thing about this year's summer, is that it's felt short as winter went on so long and didn't end until end March/beginning April. On the positive side though, I went blackberrying yesterday and this year's crop looks like it's going to be a good one (possibly as a result of the long, cold winter.)

The sun has lost its verocious heat - thank goodness. Last evening it was lovely at 5.30 on the dog walk and due to the cold spring < I didn't turn off the heating until middle of May Confused> we don't have the wasps like we usually do at this time of year Smile
Still hoping for a lovely Indian SummerHmm

I have to admit that I'm loving this cooler weather. I'm 34 + 6 pregnant and am the most comfortable that I've been in a long time.

Sorry, but it's great

There are tiny little hints of autumn aren't there. A pity, but hopefully a way to go yet. Loving this weather.

I am definitely getting more done since it went cooler, the heat made me so lazy.

I was right about the blackberries being good this year (just had another good blackberry picking session this evening), the Woodland Trust are saying it's going to be a bumper year for all Autumn fruit.

You've got blackberries already? Shock we don't even try until mid September.
Gooseberries have done brilliantly.

Me too, on holiday it was so hot and I could only motivate myself to walk from the sunlounger to the pool apart from the days we were out sight seeing.
Today must be cold as I am contemplating housework. Surely there must be something else I can do?!

OYBBK ~ last year, I first went blackberrying on 11th August so despite the different summer to last year, it's still about the same time of year. You can see though that there's going to be a huge crop this year and they're ripening quickly as well ~ I'm going to have to go every 2 days to do some gathering!

Gloria this year's summer seems amazingly long to me. it felt like winter till about May, but we had almost no rain in June and not much rain and hot weather for the school holidays ( back to school tomorrow ). It's the nights drawing in that is alway noticeable around now. For the first time in weeks we can see stars.

Noticed a few more signs of Autumn coming ~ the tree outside our lounge window has leaves that are beginning to change colour and I've noticed conkers forming on the trees the last few days.

Have just had another blackberrying session this evening ~ total picked so far is 10 1/2 lbs!

SE
It was very warm and sultry yesterday even at 7pm. Must have been a clear sky in the night as went down to 12 degrees. 13 atm
Nights are drawing in rapidly though . Trees dropping seed/fruits as little dog keeps eating them and can't get her head off the ground these last 2 days. Sky is still clear.
