I was just coming on to ask the same thing.

It's way to warm for snow at the moment, don't we have to have a blast of cold weather before any decent snow is likely to happen.

Didn't it snow in Feb 2009, so towards the end of Winter. I can't remember what it was like in the run up to that.

I'm pretty sure we had snow in February this year, and also on January a couple of years ago, there is still time. In 2006 my pils came to visit in march/ April & we had a tiny bit of snow while they were here.

I should add I'm not a loon than writes down every time it snows, my pils are Australian and mil had never seen snow which is why I remember it!

nancy you're not mad, I remember those dates too.

In Hampshire we had snow in Feb 2009, mid Dec 2009 and in early Dec 2010. Not really had a decent dumping of it since.

Fear not :) away from the north west it does look to settle down a lot more. Awful tomorrow, then on Tuesday it's as if someone switched off the Atlantic for the day. Much colder and pretty much dry. After that it looks to get much milder, but drier for most, esp in the south.

Some hints that come mid January proper winter will resume.

Oh I hope there's some snow before winter's over. I'm beginning to think that DDs getting a sledge for Christmas was a mistake ~ it's scared the snow off!

Interesting? I would say v complicated!
I will leave you to decifer that lot!

Is anyone of the opinion, that since we seem to have had months of rain, that at some point, perhaps a few months into the future, we are going to get many months of dry weather?

Winter only starts in December!

Have had snow in Feb many a time there had better be more snow anyway

oh yes amiilionyears, I am very much of that opinion! it seems that the jet stream is much more meandering nowadays in great big loops and it depends where the loop gets stuck as to whether we get months of dry or months of wet.
