Bloody ridiculous. I am hoping August might be better...... Someone who knows give me some hope please!

I'm in Lincolnshire, does it come above there? <crosses fingers>

ok, those of us in the south and midlands do look to perhaps get a little bit of a break towards the end of next week for a few days with the jet stream looking to move further north. We have a little hope to cling on to smile

<sobs quietly>

oh sad
looked at the charts again which go out to the 30th July. Guess what - no change sad

sad

It looks, well, the same as the charts do at the moment.
<sighs heavily>

Ok, fess up time, it is my fault.

If I light the oil fired cooker - sunshine and heat then the kitchen gets too warm. When it gets switched off, it rains. It is off just now.

Is it looking bad, Kitten?

There's something weirdly disorientating about this total lack of summer... feels like we've been stuck indefinitely in April.

<ignores latest run>

grin Queen - 2nd week of August??

Queenofcake Tue 10-Jul-12 09:23:00

When are you off to Spain changeforthebetter?? I hope its the same time I am off camping.

changeforthebetter Tue 10-Jul-12 09:20:50

I can predict it will be fabulous here while we are in Spain (where there will no doubt be some freakishly wet, cold weather hmm) <pessimist>

We're having our annual BBQ on the 28th and are crossing everything that it is not too soggy- 80 people will not fit in my house comfortably!

Ooh I've never posted on weather before but I'm excited grin

AmandinePoulain Tue 10-Jul-12 08:05:03

Well I'm excited grin, I'm holding on to any glimmer of hope right now...

VivaLeBeaver Tue 10-Jul-12 07:24:45

<excited>

Ok, looked ahead to the 26th July. although I still cant see any real changes in the weather pattern - there is once again a glimmer of hope at the end of the run with the jet stream looking perhaps a little less meandery and hints of high pressure.
However, that is just one model run, so dont get too excited yet.

Wantto, they can't really predict what will happen on individual days that far in advance but they can look at the general weather pattern with a certain degree of accuracy ( sort of, sometimes it goes badly wrong!)

Can they predict far enough ahead to say there's not going to be any decent spells of weather for the next month?

I thought <hoped>, that weatherforcasts were notoriously unreliable- please some one tell me that I'm right! grin

life I must take my share of the blame. I start my maternity leave tomorrow. I had a lovely summer planned, in order to make the most of having every single weekend off. We live by the beach, we haven't been to it since May. All the places we would normally take dd to in the nice weather haven't happened.

Plus we bought a campervan last autumn. We've been out in it once, at half term, and we couldn't even leave the awning up all week as it was so windy sad

I have been moved to create a new swear word

Floody Floody Floody weather. ( also works well for poxy periods gone mad)

According to The Times today the met office are saying the next month is going to be like this. Am cross. I'm camping again and I can't bare the thought of another wet week in a tent. The last 5 years have been shit, torrential rain for the majority of the holiday.

Certainly nothing nice showing until at least the 23rd which is as far ahead as I can look (couple of days ago there was hints of the 21st but that got washed away)
Many of us will get the odd pleasant day here and there - treasure anything that comes your way!
