How do I progress onto "normal" foods?

DD is a pain!
She'll quite happily eat food if it is pureed to death, but if I try to give her a 7m jar she'll quite happily take 3 or 4 spoonfuls then decides she cant be bothered so starts spitting it out then.

She likes finger food, so after pp said to just give her finger foods how do I make the switch?

I would like to give her what we eat, ie chilli or spag bol so how do I gve that to her?

How should I encourage her to use a spoon? I give her finger food in a bowl with a spoon and she just chucks the spoon away and gets stuck in with her hands? I guess when she is feeding herself with a spoon she can just start to eat normally then?

She's 10 m

just give her what you are eating , leave a spoon or fork by the bowl and let her eat how she wants to eat , if she likes finger foods then great !

i have learned babies can eat pretty much anything with their hands. ds eats the following all with his hands

Breakfast:

porridge pancakes
shredded wheat
eggy bread
crumpets
toast with cream cheese
greek yoghurt
boiled egg with soldiers
scrambled egg
poached egg
omelette
bagel with cream cheese
cup of peppermint or chamomile tea

occasionally:

pancakes
sausage
sausage and egg mayo sarnies

Lunch:

quiche
egg on toast
slices of chicken, beef etc
omelette (cooled and cut into squares)
use tortilla wraps or pitta bread instead of bread to make a wrap instead of a sandwich.
rice cakes
home-made crumpets
bread sticks
rice and vegetables
pasta with sauce
savoury pancakes
risotto

Dinner: takes a bit more time than the other meals but generally we rotate this sort of list.

quesadillas
kedgeree
chicken kievs
turkey twizzlers
fish cakes
fish fingers
chicken goujons
sausages
chicken curry
burritos
fajitas
curried eggs with rice

lol, i think the're the ironic turkey twizzlers from the blog, aren't they?
what do you eat at the moment, pinkpeanut? i bet there's nothing your 10-month-old couldn't eat given the chance.

She'll eat messily with her hands pretty much anything. Things like rice and cous cous I mix up with the sauce so that it all sticks together. At some point she'll no doubt want to copy you and insist on cutlery (like LittleHab "poon, poon, Poon, POON!!!")
Can't believe no-one's linked to the blog yet...
