New ideas needed for lunch & dinner for 10 month old

Seem to be cooking the same 5 or 6 things for DD and think I should try something new. She is great and will eat anything (except potato) but is still not too good with lumps - we are onto mashing rather than pureeing though.

Also really stuck as DD starting nursery soon and she can't have what they offer for tea (its sandwhiches and she cant manage finger foods) so need some ideas for tea that I can pre cook and they can heat up for her.

She currently has cooked meat/fish/veg type meal with pud for lunch and something lighter like baked sweet potato or pasta for tea - any ideas? Can you reheat pasta dishes/baked sweet potato or will it dry up a bit?

Also does anyone know if I can give her pesto?

what happens when she has finger foods?

pesto is fine. it does have pine kernels in though, which may be a problem if you are an allergy prone family. dd had pesto from about 8 months.

She is getting there with finger foods but we have had a few gagging/vomiting incidents so don't want nursery to feed her sandwhiches as she is not ready.

She's having rice cakes, cooked carrot sticks and toast so shes nearly there but dont want to force it.

I will cook her some lunch the night before and send it in with her and guess I will have to do the same for tea until she is ok with sandwhiches.

Just need some inspiration.

Hi Jumpyjan, my Ds, 10 months, sounds quite similar. He has had a number of gagging anc vomiting incidents but I don't think its helped by the fact he only has 2 teeth. My HV said not to worry about the finger food things at this stage. Have you tried risotto? There is a nice recipe for butternut squash risotto in the Annabel Karmel baby and toddler book which my ds loves - v easy to eat. she has some nice pasta recipes too. Do you do veg in cheese sauce? Another thing my ds loves.
