Weaning

I need ideas for things to go on toast! Do all babies go through this 'spitting everything out' phase?

My 9 month old DD has just started spitting everything out I give her. She's always been such a good eater, but now she's realised she can blow raspberries and spit at me that's all she does. She only does it in her highchair, not the rest of the day.

I've tried quite a few finger foods (veg, fruit, toast) and she will eat some. Her favourite is toast, so if anyone has any suggestions for things I could put on the toast to make sure she eats something of substance during the day I'd be very grateful, or are there other finger foods I could try?

My DS loves mashed sardines and avocado on toast. But if you are worried about salt then tinned sardines are quite salty - he was over 1 when i gave him this. You could also try mashed phili and avocado together?

mashed banana on toast was a fave of DS2's. it sticks to the taost so makes raspberries less messy (ish!)

Thanks for your help. I'll try as many of these as possible and hope that it is not a long-lasting phase.

I used to zap dried apricots in the mw with some water, then puree them and spread them on toast

Try pureeing whatever fruit and veg you want your child to eat then dip soldiers of toast in to them for her to eat.

DD did this - was a phase - isn't everything
Have you tried feeding her facing away from you? I pointed DDs highchair so she could see the garden and it works really well if she is cross with me. She munches away if she thinks I am not there (obv you do need to be v nearby!).
