my 6.5 month old DD was a fantastic eater, trying everything and eating loads.... that was until a few days ago. Now she even sees the highchair, her mouth clamps shut and the grizzles start. The only thing she will even think about eating is yoghurt but she really can't have that for 3 meals a day!!
Any advice/suggestions pls???

I would sit her there and put finger food on her tray for her to play with/try/whatever she wants or even not sit her in it for a little while. The most important thing is not to make too big a deal about it - she's still in the early stages.

(BTW - I remember one day when my DS1 ate yogurt three for all three meals )

thanks tommy sounds like a good idea. I just don't understand why she's started being really awkward about eating and i'm worried she may start to get a sweet tooth only having yoghurt!
I haven't really given her any finger food yet, any suggestions with good foods to start with?

She might be teething, and that is an apetite buster.

Mini rice cakes (non-salted) are great. I use the Kallo square non salted ones and break them in half. My DD is teething and she really loves mushing these against her gums.

My DD likes a pile of crushed potatos with grated cheese dumped on top, directly onto the highchair tray, really messy stuff but they get so involved and scoff the lot.

My DS did excactly that at around the same age, it lasted a month and then he started eating again.
I just kept offering and didn't push it (did worry though!)
First fave finger foods here were peaches, nectarines, bread and butter and rusks!

its very easy to worry (even though I know I shouldn't) especially as she's only taking 3 milk feeds a day now..... I just worry she isn't having enough.... she'll eat when she wants to!
I tried slices of avocado yesterday, was really amusing watching her try to pick them up and then hold it in her hand without it sliding away! Bread didn't go down so well, she prefered playing with the table mat!
Think she is teething though so maybe yoghurt is lovely and cold on the gums and no chewing required! Also think that maybe the purees I'd started giving her may have been a bit too thick so i've gone back to completely mushy sweet potato and butternut squash which she loves (well used to anyway)!
