He doesn't do lumps either! Pretty bad when you have to purify lumpy baby food. He also doesn't put anything to his mouth to chew, like babies do, whether it's toys, food, whatever!

HV says he rakes ok with his hand, pincer grips food, and kinda chews, but spits whatever out! He'll eat anything though! Never refused anything we've given him, unless it's too lumpy!

Maybe he's just a fussy bugger, as he also will only drink out of a doidy cup or proper cup, unless it's milk. He is BF and has formula in a bottle when I work.

HV suggests cutting soft food into cubes for him to play with. Still finding bits off banana from Tuesday, lol. But we have always let him play with food. He doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, IYKWIM.

It's his birthday party next Saturday and he'll probably be the only baby that won't feed himself!

dd didn't take lumps till she was 13 months. she gagged on a teeny piece of bacon hidden in mash potato a month earlier. one day she was sitting on my lap at breakfast and grabbed a piece of paprika flavoured salami of all things off my plate and ate it.

yet at 2 yrs in 2 wks time, steadfastly refuses the most ordinary of foods, like egg and cheese. two of my staples.

may be he is very sensitive to textures not flavours as my dd seems to be. for example, she loves dry whole wheat bread but hates too much butter on it. she will eat melted butter on toast so it isn't the flavour of it.

don't worry too much hun. i know of a full ff toddler who was the same at 15 months.
