Help! Weaned DS last week at 26 weeks. Have tried all manner of fruit & veg - pureed but not slop but still pureed. Hates spoons, hasn't enjoyed anything at all, bar a tiny spoonful of pear. I start to panic & out of sheer frustration I gave him a ricecake (as DD was having one) which after initial gagging ate..& seem to really enjoy. Back to trying other purees, no sucess, much fuss, tears & tantrums. So today gave him bit of peach, just cut in half & he ate that! At lunch I gave him a banana to hold...he ate that too. Ths evening I gave him a large brocolli floret..which he managed just fine too.
I am confused as to whether this is BLW or whether he just likes a bit of finger food with maybe the purees to kick in at some point later? I'm still apprehensive about him choaking etc but he seems to be fine this far. I don't know whether I should encourage this or keep persisting with purees...DD is 2 & half & of course I Annabel Karmeled everything...it's just such a difference this time that I'm extremely unsure of where we should be heading.
Any constructive advice welcome!
