Don't Jump Me - Growing Up Milk

DS is nearly 12 months and I have been reading Apitmals website saying only 1/2 of babies get enough zinc, and x amount don't get enough vitamins etc... so... growing up milk - is it ok? I am not worried about the price difference, just thet fact it's not "natural" really... I know you will all say it's a marketing ploy etc., but... I have been suckered in and think I want DS to have it... does anyone else use it? Any opinions?

Thanks xXx

Quootie - formula people would like us to have their over-priced product from cradle to grave (Complan and Build Up are no more than 'adult' formulas)....if you are really concerned about vitamin and mineral intake, it makes more sense to tweak your baby's diet.

Think who is telling you the stuff about zinc, and then think why they are telling you this. Clue: it is unlikely to be because they are concerned about your baby's health.

Up to you if you use it of course, but as you say yourself, you have been 'suckered in' using that old, old, tactic of telling the consumer they need something they didn't even know they needed.

It works for sofas, it works for shampoos, it works for washing powders.

Clearly, it works with 'growing up milk'

Growing up milk? My a*

Just realised - hope you don't feel you were jumped on, Quootie

You did ask not to be, and maybe I did do a little bob up and down if not a jump.....

thanks I am scared DS won't get enough vitamins in his diet, because I might think about some, but forget others. I'll think "fruit % veg fruit & veg" and realise it's been a week since he had fish... and then all the other things you are supposed to give that have every different vitamin in! ooooooooooo, I don't know what to do "for the best".

If you're concerned you could always give a multivit instead

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I was before, then I was worried as formula had added vitamins and would I overload him (I bought them when I was BFing). I guess cows milk & vitamins might do the same...
