Bit of an odd one this one but dd2 was doing really well with all her food through Christmas and just into the New Year - although she was heavily favouring the fruit option over the chicken and veg. A

After New Year savory became a real problem and she would only really eat it if it was laced with fruit. We reckon she then had a a sickness bug last week followed by a cold which has left her very mucosy (sp?) and now I seem to have gone back to zero. She has also started nursery this week in preparation for my return to work next week and they've already rung me at lunchtime today to tell me that she'd be violently sick after a mouthful of potato and brocolli puree. But last night she had banana and mango and her milk at bedtime without any issues, this morning she had her milk as normal and some baby porridge so I'm convinced that this is not bug related.

Interestingly though yesterday lunchtime I gave her some small pieces of bread to chew and eat which she appeared to like until about 5 minutes later when they and lots of other stuff resurfaced too.

So - I'm at a loss as to what is going on - and some suggestions for why she only appears to be sick at lunchtime and within a bit a nanosecond of eating food - yet for the rest of the day and food, she's ok. Surely a 7 month old isn't capable of gagging and being sick that manipulatively already????

Back to the drawing board. Her tummy is obviously very sensitive so just give her bland food such as baby rice again, mixed with a little fruit and gradually build her up.

thanks Rhubarb!

Shamelessly bumping for the late lunch crowd!

Babies and young children do prefer sweet foods - does she like sweet veg like butternut squash? Pureed red lentils are very gentle on the tummy and can be combined with fruit or veg. Also, perhaps she really doesn't need food at lunchtime at the moment.

My Ds did this recently, gagged at everything and threw it up. (Before he would eat anything!)
In the end i blended everything to a thick puree and he has eaten it. I'm slowly building it back up and so far so good.
No idea why he did this but perhaps its just one of those things?
