My baby just completed her 6 months today, but i was told that the amount of milk and porridge i give her is too much. Need help and advise as this is my first baby

8.00 am - Milk (5oz) 150 ml but she hardly drinks like 120 ml
10.30 am - Porridge (almost 4 to 5 teaspoons of powder mixed in warm water)
12.00 pm - Milk (5oz) 150 ml but she hardly drinks like 120 ml150 ml
3.30 pm Porridge
5.00 pm - Milk (5oz) 150 ml but she hardly drinks like 120 ml
7.30 pm - Porridge (which i really struggle to give her)
8.30 pm/9.00pm - Milk 150 ml (5oz) (when going to sleep)

Its really a task to feed her porridge as she never opens her mouth. Milk as well she doesnt like but when I put her to sleep like a nap or so i tend to give the milk so she drinks in her sleep.

I really need some advise as to whether I am over feeding her and whether there is a need to cut down a meal.

Why are you only feeding her porridge?
Baby led weaning is an easy way to go, google it, there are lots of useful websites with advice.

I used to cook some stewed apple and pear or plain vegetables for my daughter when she was weaning. Anabel Carmel does some good little recipe books.

Your baby isn't having too much milk the guidelines are 500-600ml a day at 7 months. But he should be eating more than just porridge, if you don't wZnt to blw then I would start offering a veg purée at lunch and dinner instead.

Yes yes to vegetable puree - carrot, butternut squash, parsnip, broccoli, cauliflower, frozen peas etc etc.
Also try mashed banana or avocado….
My DD does give her DS porridge, the real stuff not baby version, a couple of times a week for breakfast.
But at this age milk should be their main source of nutriment.

Why only porridge? That's a little bit odd and is alot of cereal to be honest. If on 3 meals try one porridge meal, one fruit and one veg.

Stewed fruits/mashed ban analysis etc and cooked vegetables are better for getting used to flavour and texture if traditional weaning.

If baby led weaning offer finger sized chunks of fruit and vegetables to start.

It's all about just exploring food and experiencing texture and flavour even if they don't get full from it. Milk is the primary source of nutrition.
