One year old and stopping bottles - help!

DD has just turned one. She was breast fed until 9 months when we started switching her onto bottles of formula. I have completely stopped breast feeding now and she has 3 bottles a day, she has started having cow's milk this week but still has formula at bed time. I'm now kicking myself for introducing bottles and not going straight onto cups.
I know one year olds are not supposed to have bottles but how do I stop them? She's not brilliant with a sippy cup, she spills a lot. She can use a doidy but tends to fling it everywhere after a few sips.
How much milk should she have now? She eats 3 meals a day plus snacks. One of those meals is cereal with milk or porridge made with milk so I assume I should count that as some of her daily milk?
How do I make the transition to milk in a cup?
Hope someone can help!

Don't panic. There are worse things than having a bottle at this age.

Persevere with the sippy cup - I did one with milk at breakfast, with water at lunch and dinner and bottles of milk in between. We also had a bottle at bedtime for another year. Just don't put any kind of juice in the bottle.

As for amounts of milk, I'm not quite sure, but i think I remember a pint? Try googling it.

My 2 older DDs have never touched milk in a cup so personally I'd rather they have the milk than not just to stick to some arbitrary rule on age to remove bottle.

Both slowly dropped morning and day bottle after 1 (I just stopped offering) and then I removed night bottle at 2 with minimal fuss.

So basically don't worry about it!

Just keep trying. Similar to stopping breastfeeding, you won't expect a child to stop overnight. I'm sure the guidelines are for you to start weaning a child off bottles.

Thank you so much for all the reassurance. We tried milk in a sippy cup this morning. More went down her top than her throat!
She wasn't too fussed about missing the bottle though which was good. She's just had a bottle though but she is having cows milk in it now so it's a start!

Don't panic. I know zero babies that were off the bottle by 1 (don't forget they are 1 for a whole year!). Which my DD Let her wean herself off, which she did naturally around 18 months. We watered down the nighttime bottles and she stopped waking for the and then after that she stopped asking for her bedtime one!

I think I have been overthinking this a bit! I'm just stressing about tooth decay after my friend who's a dentist kept going on about it. You're right, she is one for a whole year, I never thought of it like that!
