Please help!!! I started weaning ds at 5 months as suggested by hv, we made our own veg purees and he seemed to enjoy them then he began refusing them. Since then we have tried making various purees, we've bought fruit pots, yougurts, jars and pouches and he's not interested. For a while he would eat 3/4 of a peppa pig yogurt at lunch with a bit of finger food but now he won't even open his mouth to see what's on the spoon. I'm going back to work in 2 weeks and he's breastfed and won't take a bottle but will drink some water out of a beaker, I'm worried about him starving while I'm at work. I'd be grateful for any advice. He also still wakes up a few times a night for a feed.

He won't starve, really he won't. You may well find that he will eat more in childcare than he does at home, that often seems to be the case.

If he won't allow a spoon near him have you thought about trying a babyled weaning approach? So give him meals as they are and let him self feed with his hands. He doesn't have to have purees at all at 8 months. You might be surprised how much he picks up and eats.
