What, and how much does your 20 month old eat?

Just that really.... Im worried that my dd isn't eating enough. She has always been great with food, likes pretty much anything and always eaten her three meals a day plus snacks and milk.

Recently she has eaten the first few mouthfuls enthusiastically and then stops and just plays around and asks me to put it in the bin.
I have resorted to offering little bits here and there so that she at least easts something but I don't want her to get into the habit of snacking all day rather than eating at meal times.

What kind of portion size should a 20 month old have and how much milk should they be on at this point?

I know its a priùme age for fussiness but would love any tips you have/meal suggestions etc....

I look after a 22 month old and he has a beaker of milk morning and evening.
His day then consists of a snack at 10 and 2.30 which unless a special treat is always some fruit.
Breakfast 7.45 porridge, weetabix or toast ect.
12.30 is lunch consisting of finger foods. Half a sandwich, babybel, fruit and some organix crisps or boiled x2/scrambled egg and 1 piece of toast.
Tea at 4.30 would be shepherds pie, stews, sausages, veggie lasagne ect with yogurt for pud.
They say that each portion of food eg carbs, protein and veg should be as big as the child's closed fist.
If he goes off his food for no reason and is just being difficult he won't get pudding or snacks.
This seems to work for us.

Also if his appetite has dipped due to illness or teething we will half his portion size so it doesn't look so daunting.

Children vary enormously in the quantity of food they eat, and in what they need to eat in order to remain healthy.

Is she sticking to her centile line in weight? If so, she's eating exactly the right amount of food for her, even if it's different to the average, or different to another child of the same age.
