DS2 is 23 weeks and over the last 2 days we've tried him with baby rice mashed banana, and puréed apple which he seemed to enjoy and had no problems eating. I'm interested in the BLW this time round (I went down the purée route first with DS1) but BLW seems less hassle and would fit in with family meals. But I am just not sure if DS2 is still a bit young for it...should I wait a couple of weeks? If not, what are the best and easiest finger foods to try?

Can he sit up on his own? Can he pick something up and put it in his mouth?

I think basically if he's capable of feeding himself, then he's old enough. If he's not old enough, he wouldn't be able to do it anyway and it just wouldn't work.

He can pick things up on his own and put them in his mouth, but he isn't quite able to sit up unsupported on his own yet...which is making me hesitant about starting BLW.
