Breakfasts for weaners?

DS1 happily ate weetabix and banana. DS2 refuses, also turns his nose up at soaked shreddies. In fact he'd rather do without breakfast and wait for BF mid-morning. Im going back to pt work, so want him to have something. Any ideas? Can I give him standard porridge? Can't remember or find any reference to it...

Thanks

Yes, standard porridge oats are fine. Or Ready Brek.

How about toast/muffins/fruit bread etc as well?

Toast, eggs, yoghurt, fruit?

From 6 months you can give him anything but honey and whole nuts.

Semolina (not tried yet myself, but remember it fondly from my childhood)
Yoghurt

How would you serve eggs? Fried?

Young man seems to be keen to feed himself, even though I am not really doing BLW - does anyone have any ideas for finger foods for breakfast? He likes bread with butter or cream cheese, but other ideas would be welcome!

eggs would maybe be better hard boiled or in omelette form

crumpets, scotch pancakes, waffles, brioche, toast would all make good finger foods for breakfast

What about food that isn't typical 'breakfast food'?

What does he like to eat? Dinner left overs from the night before?

I'd probably do scrambled eggs.

Pancakes is a good idea... I'd probably serve it with some pureed fruit to avoid sugar!

I hadn't thought about scrambled eggs, good idea! Might also try a hard boiled egg.

Eggy bread fingers?

Thanks for the tip about Scotch Pancakes! I made them this morning, replacing the sugar with some mashed banana. We both liked it! Young man fed himself (dropping most on the floor, but never mind) and I had some with syrup. Mmmmmmm!
