Weaning

what do you give your 16mo for snacks?

Not quite a weaning question as DS weaned, but I think he's bored of his snacks. At nursery three days a week they offer bread sticks, rice cakes, raisins, fresh fruit, cucumber slices etc. I've no idea how much or what he eats of this, they just say this is what is available at snack time.

At home I offer bread sticks, rice cakes, raisins, fresh fruit and those veg puff stick things that Goodies etc make (which are basically grooming kids for real crisps later on...!) I think DS is bored of these and we don't really have scheduled snack times so I sort of offer him bits when we're out and about or while he's playing, and he's often not interested.

What else can I try? I wish he liked bananas, or toast...

Thanks

DS likes; nuts(you could chop them up), dried fruit especially pineapple, apple, blue berries, cranberries, Various cheeses, cinnamon French toast and seeds.

Cheese slices with wedges of apple
Breadsticks with nut butter/houmus to dip into
Oatcakes with cream cheese
Hard boiled egg - sounds odd but DS loved it
These are healthy and tasty

My DS is 18mo and isn't really much of a snacker. He does have a treat after lunch though and this varies from, custard and fruit, a packet of hoops & crosses or quavers, prunes, figs and raisins, rich tea biscuits, homemade banana muffins or homemade scones. He won't eat fresh fruit or vegetables unless pureed so these are out as finger foods.
