When to wean your baby onto solid food? And how to do it? Read (purée-splattered) tips from other Mumsnetters
Ahh I meant Aptamil Porridge* can't spell today.
Thanks for the suggestions! They eat most fruits now as long as it's mixed with porriage and yoghurt but they only seem to like puree carrots mixed with lumpy mash. However it's an improvement!
Sweet potato is a big hit here! I slowly sneaked in a little bit of broccoli and now she loves sweet potato and broccoli half and half . Parsnips is another good one .
Pear and butternut squash was a massive hit with my two.Carrot and applePeach and blueberry in porridgeAvocado and banana (strangely they won't touch avocado now though Have a look at the Ella's kitchen range for ideas to steal!
I used to hide things mushed up in porridge and yoghurt.Still have to do it for banana, because although he loves the taste, he hates the texture!
Never thought of sweet vegetables, I'll try that and I'll try the yoghurt too! Thanks.
Try mixing fruit. We gave our twins apple and kiwi, pear and blueberries. You could try peaches and banana mixed together. What about trying sweet vegetables like butternut squash, carrots etc.You could also try mixing pureed apple and peaches with plain yoghurt to make it a bit more tart. I would add the yoghurt bit by bit gradually so they don't notice.
My twins have been weaning for about a month. They love pureed apples and peaches and I mean love.I want to try them on more fruits and vegetables to widen their choices but they just spit it back out.My older dc ate anything I gave them but these little Munchkins are fussy.Any tips, tricks or advice on how to vary their diet?
