How much milk for 6 month old?

Hi,

We've started weaning 6 month old ds, which is going really well. He is up to 3 portions of solids per day, and really enjoying them
I was just wondering how much milk he should be having? I know milk is still the most important thing to feed him, and want to make sure he gets enough. He had 22oz yesterday, is that OK? TIA.

There will be an accurate answer in a minute.

But at that age it was probably approx the same amount

Bottles x4 a day: 8am-7oz, 11am-7oz, 3 pm- 5oz, 7.30pm- 7oz. That much was offered but often an ounce left at each bottle.

3pm bottle dropped first around 8 months, lunchtime bottle just before a year. ( morning and evening milk still given)

Between 6 and 12 months 20floz is the minimum, unless you are bfing of course [busmile]

The advice is to try to give the milk roughly an hour before solids until they are one, just so they get enough milk.

Have a read of the Mn weaning info too, its very good [busmile]

Thank you, I get very paranoid about him not getting enough milk, so that's very useful Grin
