When to wean your baby onto solid food? And how to do it? Read (purée-splattered) tips from other Mumsnetters
French mothers, as far as I know, often use Evian as it has a low mineral content. I used it for three weeks when my dd was 4 months old.
Oops sorry its 200mg per litre
Where are you going? We were in Mallorca and there were several baby friendly brands available which had a little pictureofababy's bottle on them - look for sodium content of less than 200 mg per 100ml.
I think its fine there are a couple of strange french ones with v high contents. I think they are where this comes from.
Evian and volvic are supposed to be the best for low sodium/ mineral content.
I understood that to mean not for long term continuous consumption. A couple of weeks on holiday - with other drinks and foods too is fine.
Great - thanks!
it's more an issue with younger babies who havent started solids yet. He will be fine drinking it on holiday - just try to choose a brand with the lowest sodium content you can find.
I am sure I read somewhere that it wasn't a good idea to give mineral water to babies as it has the wrong balance of minerals....does anyone know if its true and when its ok for them to drink it?We are going on holiday in a couple of weeks and I'm not sure we will be able to avoid it! (ds is 12 months now)Thanks
