I started weaning my ds (22 weeks), last week. He has been doing really great and am giving him home made veg for lunch and dinner. At lunch time he started getting upset when his lunch had finished, so decided to give him a bit more for dinner. He has just eaten a big bowl of sweet potatoe mixed with baby rice and breast milk, definatley more than the one ice cube worth I was advised. Is this really bad?????

I don't know what to say here. I don't think overfeeding is too big of a worry at this age, although constipation is pretty common if they start up solids too quickly. Two meals a day is a fair bit for 22 weeks. (But then, they're not really meant to be on solids this young, anyway ...) How much more than one ice cube was it?

About 6 cubes.

Mower, I wouldn't worry too much....he wouldn't have eaten it if he didn't want it. All babies are different, yours sounds like he's taken to solids very well. YOu might find over the coming weeks that there will be days that he won;t eat much at all - it will all balance out.
