Weaning

solids on holiday - please help - not sure what to do

we are going away in england for 5 days next week and I am not sure what to do about dd's food - she has been weaning for about 4 weeks and mainly has porridge/fruity baby rice for breakfast followed by puree and yoghurt for lunch and feg/fruit for tea.

I normally give her all homemade purees, apart from the odd jar when we are out but not sure how to do this when we are away.

There is a freezer in our accomodation but doesn't anyone know if cubes I have frozen at home would survive a 3-4 hours car journey in a cool bag? Don't want to make her ill.

What do others do in the situation?

Don't think they'll stay frorzen. I's take fresh purees in a container in a cool bag then transfer them there. Or you could take enough fresh for a day or two and then make another batch of whatever you cook while you are there to last the rest fo the time. Banana is a good standby.

thanks - yes, I have been meaning to get a liottle hand blender - that would fit in suitcvase and allow me to blend once there.

how long do purees last in the fridge?

I've taken frozen cubes away and they've stayed frozen. I've put them in a cool box with ice blocks. They've definitely lasted a 4 hour car journey and a couple of days camping too.

thanks surfer mum - I was hoping to just take some stuff out of the freezer. I don 't relish the idea of cooking and blending on hols - think I will try to take some and also take the blender just in case.
