One night only. Cheap as possible, but nice enough, prefer brekky but if we have to compromise brekky for a nicer room/other facilities we are happy to go out for a bacon butty!

Mainly we want it not directly on club route, so a little quieter than some (although we know this is a tall ask!).

Recommendations please/cheap site recommendations welcome too.

Thanks

Have a look on laterooms and lastminute - they do some excellent deals

yes, I have just looked at laterooms, all the decent ones that are not £250+ are booked, the rest are mostly clubbers paradise type rooms .

Will try lastminute.com too thanks for that one

For how many people, with kids or not? Does it have to be very close to Hyde Park?

2 adults, no children [yey]!!!!

It is not essential, as long as it is walking distance/quick tube hop (like one or 2 stops max) does not have to be a stones throw away, especially for the right place. A bit of luxury would be nice, but not essential, as us just being away together without a toddler is luxury enough!

I would suggest around Bayswater in which case, lots of hotels in huge regency buildings on residential roads. Very close to Hyde Park and cheaper than more central hotels.

Enjoy your night away sounds great!

Oh lovely I shall take a look, thank you!

We are actually going to see Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park, so as we have a babysitter thought we would make a night of it!

I stayed in the Caesar a couple of years ago. At the time I got an upgraded room with fruit, bathrobes and water etc for about £70 a night including brekkie, was very nice and trendy. It's in a quiet street but is close to Hyde Park and the Bayswater tube station. There's also a lot of cheap eateries around there. I think it was booked thru lastminute but you could try www.travelsupermarket.com and compare hotel prices.

There is a lot of schneiders around that area so watch out. We stayed at one, I think it was called the New London.....looked fab on the website but it was a bombsite when we arrived.

Kensington Close Hotel & Spa - 4 - 2 nights for £296.70 on lastminute - any good? Or there's a "top secret" 4 in Knightsbridge on offer for £237.13 all-in.

Bayswater is good, but do try the Kensington side as there are squillions of hotels there too.

Hope you have a fab time

Oh yes, worth checking trip advisor before booking.
